Alright, so the time has come where I might have to sell my baby. I’ve got three vehicles, something needs to go, whether this or the Cummins. I’ll be honest, I’m not in a motivated mood to get rid of this Land Cruiser, I’ve got hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars invested into it, and I love the truck to death. I still don't know if I'll let it go, this might just end up being a feeler.

It’s a 1984 Canadian Spec Toyota Land Cruiser BJ60. It’s been built to perform amazing off road, but while still being a streetable, reliable, daily driver for the past two years. Here is a list of specifications and modifications done to the truck.

Engine/Driveline:

-3B-T 4 cyl turbocharged diesel.
-Mercedes T3 turbocharger gated at 10psi.
-354,000kms.
-H55F 5 speed manual transmission
-4:88 gears in front and rear differentials
-ARB Air Lockers front and rear
-Racor R45T fuel filter/water seperator
-3 inch mandrel exhaust, Flowmaster 40, 4 in exiting under the driver rear door.
-Coolant circulating block heater

Mechanical:

-Brand new 37x12.50r15 Interco TrXus M/T’s. These tires are unreal offroad, quiet onroad, and still stop amazing on ice.
-Brand New Pro-Comp 15x10 3.75in BS steel wheels
-Iron Pig Hi-Steer kit. 0.25 DOM tubing w/ Toyota 80 series tie rod ends.
-WARN 8274-50 Winch.
-ARB Safari Snorkel
-AutoMeter Pyro gauge
-AutoMeter Water Temp gauge
-AutoMeter Oil Pressure gauge
-AutoMeter Boost gauge
-18,000btu bi-directional 3-speed heater under the passenger seat.
-Manual Glow Plug system w/ NGK 10.5V plugs.
-Onboard ARB HD air compressor
-6000k HID’s in H4 IPF E-Code housings
-130w IPF Super Rally driving lights
-130w Hella spot lights
-100w fog lights

Suspension and Body:

-SOA (Sprung Over Axle) lift.
-ARB Dakar Rear Leafs.
-ARB front Bumper
-ARB Safari Snorkel
-Custom rear bumper with swingate.
-Ford front shock towers
-Long travel Pro-Comp front shocks
-Custom mounted long travel rear Rancho adjustable shocks.
-Reinforced frame rails openings, leaf mounting points, rear c-channel, and rear shock mounting bar.
-Custom roof rack with gutter rail mounts. This thing will hold anything you put up there, believe me.
-62 series mirrors.
-JDM glove box grab bar.

Quick list of some recent work:

-Brand new Toyota Alternator and Regulator
-Injection pump diaphragm
-New front brake pads
-New front calipers
-Valve lash adjustment.
-Belts
-Water pump
-Upper and lower rad hoses
-Both batteries.
-Clutch
-U-joints
-Rear shoes and cylinders
-Glow plugs
-Birfield seals

Work it needs:

-New rear third member. This can be done for under $1500 all in with a Detroit locker, Nitro gears, and solid pinion spacer. I’m more than willing to install everything.
-E-brake doesn’t lock. I’ve lived without it since I purchased the truck; I just leave it in gear. It’s either a seized cable, or the mechanism on the drum.
-Windshield has some good cracks, it’s never bothered me enough to replace it; this is Alberta, windshields don’t last 6 months. As long as the cracks are not in “the driver’s view”, it won’t have a problem passing an inspection.
-It's originally from BC, Vancouver Island, but it's got it's share of rust. It's got 354,000kms, it's expected. This is Alberta, not Arizona.

These are only the modifications and specs that I can think of from the top of my head. There is much more done to the truck, tons of little things I have neglected to include. I’ve got receipts for almost everything. I have taken good care of this truck, I have put over 50,000kms on it in two years and it has yet to let me down. Oil changes have been religiously done before 5000kms, Stanadyne in every second tank; it uses next to no oil, and starts on the coldest winter days unplugged. I run 10w40 in the summer and 0w40 in the winter. If you have any questions the best way to get a hold of me is to call, from there I can tell you as much as possible about the truck. I’m safe to say I’ve got over $20,000 into this truck.

For another $1000 I have an FJ60 parts truck from the California desert. It’s mint, has no scratches or dents, and not a spot of surface rust. It’s a rolling chassis.

Once again, if you have any question feel free to contact me by phone or email. I have done my best to disclose as much as possible, if you have any specific questions I’ll do my very best to answer them. If anyone is interested in importing this truck into the states, I'm willing to do as much as possible to help out in any way. It's legal to import, but I don't know all the specific laws that most likely vary between states.

$8500

Thanks
Spencer

That is one sweet rig you have there. If I wasn't up to my neck in fj40s I would be driving that down to KY.

I can totally understand your reluctance to sell. That is how I envision my rig one day.

GLWS

Bump. $8500 firm. This is a steal now, don't even try to frisk my price.

I need to stop looking in the for sale section! It kills me!

Awesome truck. GLWS.

I feel your pain. I keep dreaming about a nice stock 40

Ever been to Yellowstone National Park? Bring it down and I will also buy you a park pass. :)

Shipping by train is only a couple hundred bucks, and they drop it off right on your doorstep. If you are serious about it, send me a PM and I'll look into the details for you.

I had this thing parked at a buddy's house for the past five days, which is the longest I've gone without driving this truck in a long time. I brought it home tonight and the thing started like a champ, the manual glows are awesome! After driving the Cummins I realize just how tight and rugged these trucks drive. You can't find a nicer shifting transmission than the H55F.

im very interest in your truck ,what is the average mpg

I get about 18mpg strict city, and about 21-22mpg on the highway.

Shipping quote to 59858....... If you have free time. I won't be up there til at least August but I do love this rig.... I am curious about having it dropped off at my door step. 110 college street philipsburg mt 59858 is the address...... Keep in mind there would be noone there to pick it up.... Let me know for I am curious.

Either way, FREE BUMP for a very sweet RIG!

Ladies and gentleman, she's gone..

:'(

Is it going to MT??? Chad, you really got to be looking to sell the 78' now. Never heard back from you regarding the possible sale. I'm still looking for a red 78' in decent shape!

Nope, sold it locally to a kid who lives in a town north of Edmonton. I really hope he takes care of the thing..

so you out of the landcruiser business for good?

No way, I know for sure I'll be back in a 60 sometime soon; if I were take a guess knowing myself it would be within a year. My dad will probably be listing his originally owned 1985 BJ60 come spring, I really want to keep that thing in the family.:D The only difference between his truck and mine, is the his BJ looks like it rolled off the showroom floor, and it needs to stay that way. I just did a full read-through of my build, I really do miss this thing.

Here's my new beaut just for the record. It's got everything I've ever wanted in one of these trucks, I couldn't be happier to own it. 2003 crew cab long box, 4x4, Laramie, 6 speed. 190kms. My dad does land development, and has been purchasing land from this farmer for the past 15 years. Just recently, my dad bought up the rest of his land, so he had no need for his truck anymore. It's a farm truck, but it's in great shape for what it is and has been babied mechanically since new. Even little things like plugging it in when it drops below -15C, just to make cold starts easier on everything. Synthetic every 5000kms, new clutch, brakes, front end. CAI and 4inch exhaust, never chipped. It also hasn't towed much either other than a few bails of hay the odd time, mostly diesel out to the combine, and four trips with a 10ft camper. I think I'll keep this one for a while.
