Since I'm back in the mood to tinker, I installed the LED gauge lights I got a long time ago.

Nice! Well the good thing about certain wavelengths of blue is they're known to keep people awake (impacts circadian rhythm).

Here you go Nick. It's US ebay but they come from OZ. Just put this in the search line on ebay.

"led cluster lights toyota 70 series"
Jim

Thanks very much! I've replaced my bulbs a couple times now (seems new ones are not as good as original). Time to go LED>

I might have to go with a set of those when I get mine back on the road.

My previous 77 Series. The shop stocks the bulbs.

Nice. That's what I am talking about. Mine are just dim enough you have to focus for second in the dark sometimes. Especially in a bright area or a lot of oncoming headlights. Takes that second for your eyes to adjust to the super dim lights when you look down.

The photo leads one to believe that the light output is a bit overwhelming but that is not the case. They're bright but not uncomfortably so.

Jimmy-
I have a 1995 KZJ71. Will the LED lights fit all 70 Prado’s? How difficult was cracking the case and replacing the lights? Mine aren’t bad just dim. Also are there bulbs that backlight the temp control cluster? Either mine are burned out or there are not even any bulbs in the cluster.

@ToyoJPN , you don't have to crack the case. The bulbs screw into the back of the case. About a 2 hour job if you never did it before. Maybe an hour if you had it apart before. Just make sure you pull up on the speedo cluster case when removing, not toward you. Take your time. It is pretty straight forward.

Thank you! I have seen different bulb types for the cluster. Do you happen to know the LED bulb number?
