Hey everyone,

This is my first post here, also first time owning LC.
 (1991, 2L-TE, LJ78w)

I was changing my fuel filter the other day and had a few quick questions:

1) Is this the original fuel filter?
2) Is there supposed to be a water sensor on the bottom? (View photos)

I was unable to get the water sensor/bleeder off the bottom due to brittle plastic and gunk, so have had to buy a replacement part and they all seem to have the water sensor attached / shown in all piece diagrams I could find.

I’ve gone ahead and purchased a RYCO Z252X & replacement water sensor from Brett’s.

Thanks, hope you’re all having a great day!

Yeah damn, that price seemed quite normal for anything I could find here in Aus... So pricey right!!

I maybe should have been more clear, I was referring to the fuel sensor cable? Is it normal that my current fuel filter doesn't actually have that? It looks as if it was torn off haha.

Some genius probably unscrewed the sensor it without unplugging it first and indeed twisted it off.

The wiring should still be in the engine bay somewhere, at least the body harness side. You can still see where the wires used to go into the potting on the bottom of your filter/water trap.

Agree about the price, it lists for about $50 USD at Partsouq: https://partsouq.com/en/search/all?q=8446160040
