I am planning on installing an a/c system on my 77' 40. I have searched and not really found any info on the topic. Which system works/cools best? I will be running the stock gm compressor that is on my vortec engine. I would love some feedback. Thanks.

i would go for the vintage air system they have one for the fj40

Scotia.

A technicians at a local automotive air conditioning shop toll me that the old style cooper made Air Cond. console is not enough cooling efficient like the alluminum ones do to the thermodinamic characteristics of each material used on each one. Also said the cooper is a lot more durable but not efficient (22% or so)

hope this help.

you are correct in stating that copper will absorb heat faster than aluminum. Aluminum will however loose heat faster than copper. they work opposite of each other.

With respect to the Vintage Air...i have heard that it does not cool very well?

Cooper?...... is that like a TV show or something?

Anyway.... Scotia, you didn't search well enough because theres tons of info on Vintage systems........
