What would be the ultimate if you guys were using all OEM hardware on the brackets and stuff.

That would be the bees knees.

:)

OEM hardware for which manufacturer? GM or Toyota? Haha!

Does JIS count? Where would someone find OEM Toyota hardware? They would need to know some kind of Toyota parts Guru......

What was the purpose of dimpling the holes in the motor mount bracket?

...via IH8MUD app

If you have a dimple die you don't need any other reason!

These two pieces come with the adapter, but they need to be offset:

I do the same on my builds. I don't understand why Marks does this on 95-97 cruisers..... Annoying... Especially at a 1400$ price tag

The original shifter had positions for P R N D 2 1. (or rather “L” instead of “1” in the case of the 80)

The GM 4L65E that’s going in has P R N D 3 2 1.

Loving the installation pictures and detailed notes. Awesome job, can't wait to see the completed product. When can I drop off my truck:bounce:.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, our approach to the change in shift pattern is a little different that others have done by using the 3FE 80 shifter. We started by carefully buffing off this factory piece:

324Tq_pihQzMMeRuOi6r22gH_ZgyHV4ooRlTKBfdo4CpaP4UUXTMkI1kwCVFHVonZtu12j7jKxy5A06m1N4JfqHmfZKklAO3m1Lxet8OPLFPf4m4lxqbRor1q3TV-_k89g

It leaves behind nothing but clear plastic. Then, we had a vinyl decal made to match up to the new shift points:

The OLD pattern:

...and the NEW pattern after buffing off the original PRND2L & adding the vinyl decal:
