How long have you had those Chris? They have changed style from the ones I have. I wonder if I have the old style or you do? lol You will appreciate the quality solidness of the ride.

Wait are you sure those are for an 80??? lol

When I get something in the mail I instantly have to destroy the packaging and fondle it.

In most cases, so do I, but never concerned about Glenn's stuff.

December or so...

You will appreciate the quality solidness of the ride.

Have been appreciating for many years, since this the fifth set.

Going to try these with wore out OE coils and 30mm spacers up front. Order coils according to butt dyno and aesthetics.

Yes. Don't know about new or ikd style, but mentioned to Glenn a general dislike for the clamped rubbers between bodies and he said he'd see what he could do.

Band clamps are stainless and they're mounted to a loop welded to the shock body, not the body itself.

I was joking hmm we really do need a sarcastic font! lol.

This usually works well for me, :flipoff2: .

:flipoff2:

I really like how clean you are keeping this 80.

Seems worthy of the extra attention and I've logged around 15k since I drove home, just rolling 180k today.

Seeps and weeps just about everywhere possible, but runs like a top, so almost hate to tear into it.....yet.

I've taken a new approach and I'm not going to hoard loads of parts, waiting for some major future restoration.

New window runs went in yesteday (necessity, because glass got cock-eyed, so swapped all) and new weather stripping, outer plastics, and carpet will be going in soon.

Enjoy a little at a time, opposed to disabling for years on end.

When does the 40 arrive?!?! :)

Hopefully before the end of next week, so Mrs. D can put a big bow on it, as a 40th birthday gift.

40 for 40, right?

Mebbe I should've left Pandora's box closed....

'Cause now the tires look small....might as well throw the 37s on it, lift accordingly....three link...coik overs....

SLAMMING BOX TOP SHUT, NOW.

The shocks stiffened the ride, so much so, I don't know if stiffer coils are necessary. Will drive for a few weeks, see how it settles, adjust front height, if necessary, then worry with.

Feels, damn near sporty.

Plenty 80-85mph windshield time, today, to butt dyno, over analyze, potentially overdo...

@Delancy maybe its time for a 5speed, to make that butt dyno operative!!!:flipoff2:

beautiful rig btw!

What shocks are those?

Radflo's

Yeah I said the same thing with the Slee's Chris. Since you can adjust the nitrogen charge you could basically make them helper springs. Hell when I got them I couldn't compress one shock with my entire body weight. I had to let the nitrogen out, install them, and recharge them to a less stiff seeing. But if I pumped them all the way up I would probably get lift. Lol

I considered, but have more than enough on my plate and uses for the H15Xs already in inventory.

Butt dyno has been unable to plot a chart the last 60 miles, top speeds of only 55mph.

Driving through a damn deluge, on the way to pick up the Shaman's boy in Springfield, Mo, maintaining directly under the eye of the flood.

When you feel an 80 float, there's a whole different butt reaction, similar to feeling one start to tip....or roll at highway speed.

What shocks are those?

Radflo's for 0-2" piggybacks.

They tightened the feel up tremendously, but it's still a high quality ride.

I was anticipating a coil order, spec'ing 20% stiffer than OE, but don't think necessary.

For that matter, if I can live with the spacers and stance remains good, may not need to order coils.

Hell when I got them I couldn't compress one shock with my entire body weight...

I don't have that problem....although a goal, one strived for hours, every morn.

(When installing the LXs shocks/coils, actually found a purpose for the OE bottle jack)

When lowering off the lift, yesterday, the rear looked lifted, even. Could see it settle.

Center cap refurb is an easy 1-hr project that pays huge visual dividends. Just about any silver rattle can will work, but duplicolor is a safe bet. I used airplane stripper and then primed/painted...still looked great when I sold the 40th 10 years later.

Eyesores, I know...

Can't turn these wheels, so faced with a decision that I've consternated over and procrastinated.

Either pain an AL-ish looking finish, caps included, or source different. Have one at a local shop that he was going to paint to see what I thought, just haven't been by.

Will make the call after...

That is one nice truck Dude , I like the one piece side rear glass I never see one except from Import hdj81 cruiser and I would keep it the way it is , I just saying .
