Not sure running boards, molding, trailer hitch, rear deflector, floor mats and roof rack are indicative of the "poverty package" :flipoff2:

Looking good so far and glad to see you back in an 80.

Now that is a rare bird - cloth, lockers sans 3rd row w/ cloth. Going to enjoy it as is or build it extreme? I vote preserve :)

If you'll note the last pics, running boards, roof rack, and spoiler have been removed, the flares to follow suit shortly.

As close as we ever received and a rare bird due to lacking sunroof, no sliding cargo glass, clear glass (aftermarket tint) no third row or provisions for, manual seats, cloth interior (a rare pattern, at that) and elocked.

All checked out by VIN, so a legit no optioned rig.

Had the history checked out when I committed to purchase in July, I would leave well enough alone, but it's work to be done to correct other attempts at, so figure I can't paint the damn canvas anyway I see fit.

Panel alignment and door issues, along with a piss poor job of replacing the DS rocker and other items that will be addressed.

Gonna paint it, so might as well pull the flares and finish the path to poverty.

I purchased thinking the shell was worth what I paid and would swap drivetrains, but it's the best running, driving, stopping 80 I've ever driven.....and have put 9k on since I bought.

Leaks, seeps, weaps from every orifice, but smooth and almost sporty feeling.

Replaced all indicators, lights, and non-plasti dipped grille from Onur, today, which made a huge difference.

Trying to resurface the wheels, but having issues with. Will seek better quality wheel, if these can't be rehabilitated.

Found missing headrest. Stroke of luck, but on their way.

New carpet in storage, looking for new or minty used floor mat and non-third row'd cargo mat (but would take whatever that was new)

Ordering coils in the next few, hoping to minimize rake leaving rear OE height.

Shocks ready to go.

Have enough major projects underway that this will be a slower go at restoring, but will inevitably see a full round of mechanical, along with the addition of the SC.

FJC is for sale if anyone is interested.

Awesome. Paint it Desert Dune or Antique Sage and sell it to me after the restore

New floor mats you say...

Had a hint these would be gone soon and bought a set 2 years ago right before discontinuation....

Trade you for right to first refusal...
at an agreed upon price, say 10K :grinpimp:

As is, with deviations in the paint color, paint scheme and removal of flares/addition of SC.

If it were pristine, even patina'd, with a pedigree, I'd leave alone but it ain't, so gonna modify to my liking.

I've wheeled my last full bodied 80.

Hopefully not On the roof.... Again.

Too soon? Nah, he has this bird for 6mo :flipoff2:

Mid to end of November and hoping to keep all four planted.

No one is going to say anything.

The LX is on the cusp of rebirth....part of the reason for separating this to it's own thread, 'cause the other may get interesting.

Nice!!

Similar reasoning why I deemed all new lights and lenses a good investment....why wheels may follow suit soon.

Prolly keep it simple white.

Great looking 80 Delancy!

Just realized the top half of the rig is Desert Dune (1A5) already...

It's a respray and doubt an OE code, even, but need to see Desert Dune before totally ruling out painting monotone with.

These two colors are weird.

At times the upper appears a muted/matte gray, others beige, while the lower can look either silver/gray to blue.

Could handle sage, no problem, even the desert dune if it looks different than the existing, but in a perfect world, I'd opt white.

Kinda glad the interior is oak. If it were gray, I'd step way out of the box and paint an IS metallic silver.

would make a repaint (firewall, jambs etc) real easy.

Realize nothing can be determined from this, but the firewall/inner color is completely different from the body.

Buddy at a high end shop said it appears original.

Figured it'd be prudent to check out a OE desert dune 80, before making the decision, but even then, I can't swear that the body won't come off anyway.

Intend to semi-restore and preserve, hopefully at a quality level that will be appreciated for many more years.

Cloth and no sunroof: love it! Third on my wish list would be a manual transmission...and the diesel...

Cloth and no sunroof: love it!

Compared to the LX, it's much roomier, more legroom (even had extenders in LX) and the seats are very comfortable.

Third on my wish list would be a manual transmission.

Have a couple, but don't think I'll hassle with the conversion. Don't see enough benefit, considering a DD.

Take the Pig for the 5 speed fix.

Running the H15Xs makes for a much easier 1FZ swap, otherwise I'd opt auto for the wheeler, too.

...and the diesel...

Be seeing more of them now that they're legally importable.

Would opt that route before converting, personally, but I'm an F fan, so biased.
