Nope I am an idiot.... Its a 4l60e..... Its my first post I contacted the Mods to help edit the title... I know I suck at life ;(

don't worry about it, i knew what you meant ;)

X2 on the 6 speed. Seems like a sweet option but not too popular yet. Nice looking build!

I'll subscribe to this thread. Do us a favor and upload your pics and then make sure to hit the "large pics" icon. That way, the pics are normal size w/o needing to click on thumbnails to see the pics!

I just finished mine about a month ago. Same set up. 2004 5.3 dbw/4l65e/marks adapter. Upgrades: Cam/springs/pushrods/high volume oil pump/dual timing chain/transgo shift kit. Love the power. I'm in the Springs. Subscribed. Enjoy the journey

This is a dumb question but wouldn't a drive by cable setup allow the use of the OEM cruise control?

I believe you are correct, the motor I purchased was already set up for FBW. I am kind of interested in doing the FBW being that I don't tend to use cruise control all that much. It might be interesting to look into integrating the cruiser control from a Tahoe or Suburban that would normally work with the FBW.

I guess you could say things got kind of serious last night....

I went with detaching the engine from the transmission first after most guys on here said they preferred this to pulling the engine and transmission at once. I have to say I think it was harder being that the back transmission bolts are insanely hard to get to and remove.

Cruise control can work with dbw just takes some electrical work. I am working on a L92/6L80e. It's a little more involved vs 4L60e. One there is no mlps for reverse. Two you need to mod it for bump shifting. Three you have to mash a dent on the passanger side of the firewall to clear the head. All which Marks Adapters never tells you :D

Nice! I did pull motor/tranny/tcase all together. Easier but you need some height in your garage and a load leveler helps. Not to mention a beefy hoist. Have to say it was unnerving to have that much weight that high up

Of course it's way too early to be concerned about cruise control but when the time comes check this link out - Electronic add-on vehicle cruise control systems by Rostra

I got a cruise control package from them to work with my 5.3L/4L60E. I have a DBW set up myself.
Tip.....wrap the unit in foil if you install a CB radio or you can put yourself in limp mode or short the unit out.
