Today I finished removing the Transmission and Transfer case and also removed the stock motor mounts.

I received my adapters from AA. I literally ordered them on Monday and was told it would take 3-5 weeks but some how I received them in 4 days.

I am really just waiting on parts. I'll keep every posted as soon as more goodies come in and I have stuff to do.
If anyone in the Colorado area would like to come check out the build and help do my wiring I make sure to have cold beer on hand! :D

If only I were closer... I'd love to check it out and get some tips for when I do mine. Looking forward to seeing your progress!

FJ80 Family Wagon!

Sorry for the delay... Life happens. I was hoping to provide a step by step walk through on the swap. I think towards the end I will provide my complete parts list and links as well as my pin out guide that I used to make everything Colorado compliant.

Completely rebuilt the 4L60e

Knocked out the adapter for the transfer case.
Pretty straight forward kit was a little nervous about grinding the output shaft but it was a breeze. I beveled the end and added a dab of assembly grease

I did a test fit as I was worried about the Stock 4HI 4LO gear selector. I noticed that most of the guys on have a square bolt pattern where mine was Rectangle. I figured I could redesign a bracket to make it work but I couldn't seem to make it fit or function properly. I called Marks Adapters and they told me they have never heard of this problem. I ended up buying one of ebay from a 93 for $35 bucks. I still think I need to fab the mounting plate a few inches towards the drivers side.

I went with the Dirty Dingo mounts. Great mounts very heavy duty as well as adjustable which is awesome because you never know....

I decided to attach the motor mounts to a reenforced plate rather then welding them directly.

Next I installed the headers. I went with the Hooker Block Huggers. I was a little disappointed when I received the headers there was a lack of paint/ ceramic coating on them and they actually had some light surface rust. I am not sure if its normal but I didn't make a fuss and just used header paint to touch them up. Anyone out there have any ideas for heat shields???

Sweet man Looks Great! I have been paused on my project as well as I have been working on my truck and my son was born last month. My goal was too have it done before he was born but that did not happen. hahaha I wish I could have run headers the Camaro manifolds work but clearance is tight.
