SOLD SOLD SOLD Selling an FJ80 that I bought last year, my daughter used it this winter and it worked great for her. She is back to driving her Civic now and the 80 is no longer needed. I bought this from a fellow Mudder from NY (it was listed on Mud classified) and paid $4200. Except for a few issues I will note below it was as represented and a downright reliable cruiser.
Mileage is appx 202K, NO LOCKERS. Didn't need lockers this winter even with all the snow in the Poconos where my daughter lives. Automatic transmission and transfer case work perfectly. Engine starts and runs great it has lot of power and is peppy for an 80. Don't know what the color name is but it's a neat and unusual shade of two tone gray. Check the photos. There is a small rust bubble near the windshield and some rust on the valance other than that the only rust is on the running board sides and the hitch. The PO painted these areas over right before taking the pictures I saw and the looked great when I got it. It's pretty much an original unmolested cruiser.
Has a roof rack and a sunroof that operates as it should and does not leak. Has driving lights, a bull bar upfront and tail light guards. No leaks anywhere on this truck. I don't think Jenna needed to add any oil to it while she had it. All accessories (lights, wipers, heater, etc) work as they should. This truck has CLOTH seats- unusual and they actually provide almost two additional inches of headroom compared to leather upholstered seats. It has the third row seats and the interior is in very clean condition. Has a very powerful and clean sounding Sony CD player built into the dash. Is currently inspected, licensed and insured here in PA. has a real sturdy looking hitch. I installed a new driver door window regulator when we got the truck and the window works fine.
Has I believe wheels from a lexus (am I wrong here???) and some neat Nitto tires, they're slightly bigger than original. I have a matching spare, these tires and wheels came from Rich Adams wrecked 80. They are good on the road.
Issues. You can see the rusty areas on the running boards and on the face of the hitch. The battery goes dead if the truck sits more than three days, I put in a new battery but it didn't change the issue. Something is draining the battery and I have only had the truck in my posession for a few days. Haven't had time to track the problem down. I did disconnect the wiring to the driving lights but that didn't help. I asked the PO about this but he told me he never experienced the problem. he did mention during our pre-purchase conversations that he thought the stereo should be re-wired. I suspect he knew there was an issue but suspicion is all it is. I think there is a small nick in the windshield too but not a problem at all.
Overall the truck has worked fine. My daughter loved having it and other than the gas mileage (she called it 13MPG) she'd have kept it. I have more land cruisers than needed, and more than I comfortably have room for here in northeastern PA. PA title in my name is in hand. It's a pretty truck in an unusual color combo and the cloth interior is comfy and nice. I'd like to get SOLD SOLD SOLD $4000 for it but am somewhat flexible. Check out the photos and see what you think. Best to email me shmukter@pa.metrocast.net or send a private Mud message. I'm about 35 minutes from rausch Creek. Thanks, gary S
