So you had a tacoma and got a 80 for a winter beater, then you proceeded to make the beater bad ass! Then you decide to sell 80 and buy a huge already built 60! What brought on this urge?

Lol.

Its not often you find a rust free, pimped out 60 up here...

And I do wanna keep the 80 but need a truck so its gotta go. The Tac will get dd/winter duties i guess.

Pics later tonight.

NASTY!! What's been done to the 60? SOA, front and rear bumpers, rear quarter window tint....

Lol, its what hasnt been done. Heres a run down even though I feel like a tool listing crap I had nothing to do with.

pretty bad hope she treats you well, things will be bit easier to climb now id say, go wheel so we can see pics

That 60 has all the goods - you can get 40's on with that setup :grinpimp:

Yup, the guy had 38 or 39.5's on there before. Pretty sure the gearing could handle it since 1st is basically useless right now with the 37's. I can dd it around town in 2nd and 3rd if Im going slow (45-55km/h).

I did hit the hwy today and got it into 5th for the first time. Cruised at 80-90km comfortably, well besides the play in the steering that I have to address. Im thinkin of taking out a leaf on each side in the front as well. It basically feels like the van has a seizure when you hit whoops and stutter bumps at speed.... lol.

I have read this thread since you first started it, and I have to say that I think you are way too motivated to have a rig already built. Now you will have all this free time to do nothing with. But you're in luck, because I am willing to help you out. You bring that thing down here to Nevada and i will take it off you hands for a few grand. :p

Anyways if you start a new thread in the 60 section, be sure to link to it on the beater thread so we can all check it out.

Lol, deal.

Lots of little things to mess with on the 60. Like who the hell welds sliders to the frame w/o scab plates and gussets on a machine like that........ I can see them flex when I use them as a step to get in. Horrible when you consider all the work that went into it.

By the way, I m not on strike anymore (1 year 2 month long strike) so unless I get an offer on the 80 real soon Im thinking of just keeping it. I hate the idea of someone rolling in the 80 that I built.

Spoken like a true Cruiser head!
Now all you need is a Turbo diesel to round out the stable!!!

keep the 80!!!!!!!!! Time for the baselining of the 60 to begin!

Please get a FJ40!

Hey man your two silver trucks are super cool and all your mods are
inspiring. Checking the "93 Beater" thread is like watching some
awesome action drama with really hot female leads that keeps
getting better. You are like a Toyota superhero, you even throw in
role-model moves like charity work on mazdas etc.

That being said, the khaki truck is bananas.

My advice to you would be to get a 40. You will of course keep
the Taco, the "Van", and the Khaki monster. You'll need to strike
again next year, I can't wait to see how the 40 turns out.

Cheers.

Been busy and not had a chance to check up here myself.
WOW!
Big changes!!
Congrats on the end of the strike.:)

60s are cool, but you'll still need a winter beater if you want to keep it looking like it's fresh from Cali. And it's too big to fit in the garage, so there's no working on it in the winter. But I'm sure you'll figure something out.

I suspect the 80 may be hanging in there. If it doesn't, your project has been an inspiration to folks in a number of ways. Now if I can just talk my wife into getting a welder to mod the M101 with:p
Here's to whatever's next.

Thanks guys.

Took the 80 to get checked out by a prospective buyer today and it was a sad sad thing. I seriously dont know if I can sell. Dammit!

Hmmmmm, somehow the for sale sign has migrated from the front wind shield area to the under the drivers seat area.....

I have to buy a place with a barn, or an aircraft hangar.
