My 92 22re 4x4 p/u is really not perfroming well. I had it in for a tune up at 209k and the mechanic was really impressed with the engine "its a keeper mate", now at 226k there is a marked decrease in power and fuel economy. I took it in for another tune up to the same mechanic and he said that the valves had tightened up? which as I understand it is not a good thing. Should I be waiting for this sucker to die or ?????? Any ideas would be appreciated

I would start with a new Ox sensor.

Clean the fuel system, the throttle body, vaccum lines ect. Find a product called Sea Foam. Stuff works really good and you will notice a difference.
