I've seen a few videos recently about the ZF 8 speed transmission being used to replace the trans in LCs in AUS. A couple of companies have their foot in but here a quickie from wink 4x4.
360 gearboxes is working on a day kit for the 80 series. The 70 series conversion is 25k aus, so not cheap. Don't have a price on the kit yet as they say they're still in development.
The 8hp70 apparently is good to 1100hp and I've seen vids of this trans in 700hp supra and other high hp vehicles. It can be configured to paddle shift, a good range of gearing from what I recall.
My main interest is in getting more power to the ground with a modern trans. Otherwise I like the oem for many things.
Anyone else know of this, seen it applied? Have thoughts on it?
