Plan on doing this next spring....but I like the ones without the top window frame and with a cup holder too. I might just break down and buy some tube doors though.

I like the direction this is going though but I see this coming down to a hard choice of which rig to drive!

Yep that mutt looks great John, keep it up.

niceeee!! lik dem doors soo whats the final color gonna b ?

Thinking of a John Deer green or a golden brown main color with a some sort of bed liner along the bottom and fender edges.

Nope, you can't do that. My dad had some extra JD green that we were saving for the 4runner this winter! j/k, do what you want. We live far enough apart that it doesn't matter. ....and that needs paint more than my runner!

Tacked the half door together with my Harbor Freight 110v/ 90amp welder, cut the backing of the door panel down, folded the material over the cut out edge and restabled the fabric to the back. First ever sheet metal welding so there is a few holes, but this is my practice set/ learning curve. Thats why I started on the passenger side as well.

The good news is that the F&R 5.29 thirds are set up and the rear one is installed on the truck. The almost bad was that I got a rear IFS axle with the infamous factory 4.88 gears, which means you can only run a Toyota V-6 4.88 ring and pinion gear set.:bang: The third member was casted with a different offset for the pinion and causing a thinner ring gear which is only made by Toyota I guess. So that offset would not allow for the new 5.29 to set close enough to the center to install the carrier bearing caps or retainers. Luckily Davin showed up to swap his tires and wheels, who just so happen to have just swapped in a rear re-geared V-6 third of his own. He offered up his old stock third for my TG 5.29 with Detroit set up and it all fit the way it should, Thanks Davin:clap:. The front 4cyl third is built as well just waiting to rebuild the front axle to install the new third member.

Factory 4.88 housing and gears.

Worked on the half doors some more by cutting the holes for the West Marine cup holders. Also cut down the other door panel for the driver door.

looks good man! if i ever get sometime to do the small things, i will be doing my spare set of doors also!

Pulled the front axle out, took it apart to find it was full of some pudding looking grease hub to hub. Removed the sway bar and torsion bar mounts before welding in some steering stop nuts with cover tabs. After grinding it all smooth added some paint, now I have to clean the knuckles up, repack the bearings, and put it back together.

Hang too low. I would opt for no bed and lifted tank :P

Yep, just one less thing hanging low.

It is not a high risk area and I have not hit the tank on my 4runner yet, but there is a chance in big rock gardens.
