84 fj60 resto-mod

I just purchased a 1984 fj60. Sort of my second one. I work for a shop that builds International Scouts, mild to wild and lots of Chevy LS/Vortec swaps. This has given me the inspiration for my fj60 build.

Plans:
-complete rust repair and paint
-new carpet
-front seat swap (undecided on which ones)
-OME lift
-16's with 33's
-custom bumpers, sliders, rack
-5.3 w/4L60
-complete refurb of axles, brakes, etc.

This build will probably be slower than faster but I will try to keep the progress updates. For now I'm enjoying driving it while I gather some parts!

Good plan. Sounds like you got some great resources at your disposal. I always have liked Scouts. If it hadn't been cruisers it might have been Scouts.

Finally started a little tear down

Yeah the tires on the stock wheels were junk so my dads 80 wheels worked for a while

Not an update but while I'm slow with my build I thought maybe some of you guys and gals would enjoy looking through this build from the shop I work for.

A little more progress tonight. Working on getting the drivetrain out to mock up the LS drivetrain.

Got the motor ready to pull! And also got some work done on the winter daily

Finally got the motor pulled which will be for sale soon. Now on to mock up before the rest of the truck gets dismantled

No progress yet sadly, have been to busy building crazy scouts but hopefully will have some time to work on it soon.
In the mean time...a couple trucks we've been working on. Keep an eye out for the white one in a Dirt Every Day Extra!
