DanKunz,
That is a huge help actually. Crutchfield wanted me to put in 6 1/2" for some reason. I thought the doors were all 6x9's. is there a depth issue like with the 80 series in the doors that you know of?

I didnt have any issues, but I had mine installed at a shop that did all the fitment.

I am not very tech savvy so I am not sure who on this forum i should reach out too? I just need the Bluetooth option for this DD.

The eBay unit you mentioned would just be for adding a video signal to your Nav screen.

If you want Bluetooth, there are units made by USA-SPEC and Vais Tech that work well. The Vais Tech unit does not add BT phone calls, but if your truck already has that (like mine did) then it's awesome.

USA SPEC -BT45-TOY

Vais - Video,Audio Information Solutions for Toyota and Lexus

I installed the Vais unit a couple weeks ago. It was very easy - just pop out the radio, plug in the unit, and find a place for the control box. It's a half hour job at most. The USA SPEC unit should be a similarly easy install, but you'd need to install the microphone wire too.

GROM worked for me before I swapped stereos.

My thought was to run an iPad mini as the screen... My only obstacle is the ac controls.... Which don't work since my screen digitizer doesn't work.
And I spent 200$ on a screen and that didn't fix it... Second screen is on the way though at no cost

I used this same setup when it was factory with a GROM to integrate. Now it is all aftermarket (I was non-navi).

Ordering these today:

Amazon.com: OPT7 LED Headlight Bulbs w/ Clear Arc-Beam Kit - H11 (H8, H9) - 60w 7,000Lm 6K Cool White CREE - 2 Yr Warranty: Automotive

I will post pics on install and let you know what the out come is as far as light out put and beam.

On a side note I am trying to change out the amber lights that are in our rigs. The light I am talking about cast an amber glow at our feet, console area (from between the map light)

What part numbers or bulbs are these and are we able to change them out?

Thanks in advance!

Very cool. I didn't know that was a thing...be sure to post your results!

Ok well what the wifey doesnt konw right....

LOL seriously though I decided to go with the GROM TOYLB3 - they have a $20 off coupon right now and free shipping so it was easier than changing out the whole unit... hopefully it works for now and maybe I will find an easier way to change out the HAVC later.

The LED headlights will be here Saturday or Monday and will post pics once they are installed.

Well I must say first impressions are very nice looking LEDS. The crisp color is what I have been looking for. I will take some time at night this week to adjust them. The kit seems well made and the plug in play systems was great. I did have to move the battery out of the way to install the DS head light but was able to tighten the battery back down with no problems. I will let you know if there are any malfunctions but over all very happy.

I will tell you I'm not very impressed with the H ID lights that I bought. I was expecting them to be much brighter. It might just be the headlight set up on the Gx's.

adjusting the LEDs has helped but the throw pattern is not as far down the road as I would have hoped. With all that being said the cut off line from the halogen projectors is much cleaner and crisp and the light is much whiter than any of the 5000k or 6000k HID systems I have had in the past. I am happy with them over all. Also knowing that I have 7200lm LED bars to throw anytime I need them is a great comfort.

Update,

LED head lights are very nice! I readjusted the headlights and they are just as good as my wife’s 2010 gx460. They even have a pretty sharp cut off line. Very happy.

Grom BT3 installation.... let’s just say it has been an adventure. First off I have never pulled interior dash panels and well I now know that you should start from the bottom and make sure that you take the center console trim off first... So I will be looking for a driver side AC / Hazard wood trim piece. OUCH!!! LOL

Secondly the NAVIGATION SYSTEM IS A B!T@#. I have taken the CD changer out as well and it is still fighting with the GROM system. I can hear callers and I can play music now but they cannot hear me. Very frustrating interfaces but with all that being said I worked through the problem with the GROM tech.

If you have a new ISO update on your IPhone you need to plug in the GROM system and let it boot up. Then turn the key off to the ignition, cancel the Bluetooth connection from your phone to the GROM and HARD RESET YOUR PHONE. Once your phone is booted back up turn the car back on and let the GROM system reboot and find your phone. Connect and test with the Bluetooth music. Then make a call.

Also very important DO NOT TRY AND TUCK YOUR MICROPHONE WIRE BETWEEN THE DASH AND THE A-PILAR OR THE A-PILAR AND THE WINDOW. If it pinches at all you cannot be heard.

I am ordering another microphone from them today and hope to be operational shortly. Other than that I am happy with the system. Lol
