I am shooting for around high 9's just under 10:1.

Nice, what was the Supra running? I think with almost 10:1, larger intake and exhaust valves, and bigger cams, even with the bigger turbo this 1FZ should come up on boost very nicely.

Haha, thanks @beno! They aren't OEM but they look very nice! If you ever happen to have a stock piston and rod floating around I would love to know what they weigh. These are 767g for the rod and 518g for the piston.

HOLY MOTHER OF ALL THAT IS EPIC WITH A 1FZ-FE!!!!!

I'm thinking that high 9's to near 10 will be your quarter mile times too!

Haha using one of the many 1/4 mile hp calcs, the engine will certainly be capable. You need about 920hp @4500lbs for a 9.9. But the transmission will not be capable I am sure of it. Getting 4 sticky tires and that kind of power and weight the transmission is going to be the weak link.

It has a hypertune intake, larger valves, ported head, 10:1 CP's, H beam rods same as yours. It runs mostly e85 but has a flex fuel sensor so will be fine on pump too. It has a BW massive turbo can't remember the numbers. The off boost and low boost response is amazing with the higher compression. I make the power feel much more linear.

That is great to hear, I wish Hypertune would make a manifold for the 1FZ, but talking to Nero he says they have been saying the same thing for 5 years. Titan used a Wilson manifold on their 1FZ, but frankly it looked like s*** and cost $3k. This manifold that I traded for is not perfect and not blingy CNC but I think with some work it is still going to be much much better than the stock manifold.

I have the wrong job

Do you have any thoughts about beefing up the frame for the extra torque?

Job? Ha, I have been unemployed since Dec and worked part time for 6 months before that. I just have terrible priorities. Lol

Maybe he means that he should be working on cool stuff like hi-po engine parts instead of boring Toyota cars :flipoff2:

Maybe he needs to convince Toyota to get their s*** together! lol.

Dodge/Chrysler has SRT - Viper, Hellcat, Jeep SRT, etc
Ford has SVT - GT500, GT350, GT, Focus RS
Chevy/GM has - ZR1, ZL1, Z28, Z06
BMW has M - M3, M4, M5, M6, X5M, X6M, etc
MB has AMG - C, E, S, G, etc

Toyota has the floundering F line, and a subaru engined FR-S? Same engine in the F's the last 10 years. Concepts but no real drive. Sure you can make a lot of money selling boring old vanilla, but those boring old vanilla buyers are the same ones that would jump ship if someone else has similar vanilla with a coupon. The real passion lies in these special production cars..... raise your hand if you had a poster of a Camry on your wall. :flipoff2:

Well, when you're done, I will have a poster of your new 80 right next to my posters of Racquel Welch, Farah Fawcett, and Cindy Crawford.

Does Toyota have the balls to put the new Supra into production? I doubt it but hope I'm wrong!

Maybe if you show the decision makers what your 80 can do (will do), it will push em along

Ha, you two are funny. This is just an old truck that I get a kick out of working with not some kind of super truck, I am not an engineer nor a performance car designer. Toyota should just put a small group together and give them their resources and let them loose. I know that was the idea with the LFA, but at $400k not quite the passionate buyers car. lol.

Well good thing my buddy Marc was kind of taking his time on the turbo manifold, I have done some more research and it turns out that most if not all of the manufactures recommend that you do not hang a large turbo upside down when you are using a v-band and not a 4 bolt flange, so the design of the manifold will change to put the turbo on top. It will make it a little harder to route the downpipe and the air outlet but it will be much easier fitment of the actual turbo.
