SOLD!

Pulled off of a locked 1993 Land Cruiser. Complete rear locking differential including 3rd member, actuator and cover, and wiring from actuator to rear cargo area (NOT COMPLETE HARNESS FROM FRONT). Gearing is presumably stock 4.10 and ring and pinion looks good. Actuator is working when tested w/ 9V battery, but I did NOT test this truck while it was still running.

Axle shaft splines are in good shape. Looks like someone left a little mark on the flange when doing an axle job in the past, but it was not leaking and fit was good.

Dash switch was not tested while truck was still running. The rear plastic (behind dash part) is cracked, but everything still fits together and the switch still depresses and rotates like it should.

ECU is from passenger side kick panel.

Located in Houston, TX. You pay shipping.

Can I just swap this into a non locked 1997 differential? I know there's some grinding of the housing, and a couple of holes to be drilled, but do I need the axles or will mine work? Do I need to change anything else?

I do have the front, but it's going in my '85 4runner unless you can talk ($$) me out of it. ;)

There are definitely others who might know better than I, so I suggest you do some searching to get some definitive answers. With that said.. yes you will need the axle shafts from a locked truck (longer splines). How you choose to wire the locker is up to you. There are aftermarket kits available for about $150 (how I will be wiring my front, The 12Volt Guy), or if you choose to go the OEM route you will need the dash switch, locker ecu, and POSSIBLY the wiring harness that goes from the front driver kick panel to the rear of the truck. I have read that all LX450's and possibly some LC's have the harness pre-installed which would mean you don't need to worry about it. Just plug the actuator harness into the rear harness and lock away.

I have all but one of the OEM items (missing the full harness from front to back) if you so choose to go the OEM route.
