One step at a time or some crap :censor:. At least you have options on vendors...if I want something powdercoated there is one place and they are just ok at best but the new setup costs are truly a waste for you.

I thought the rule with anything 80-related was to never add up the total cost o_O????

I stopped counting long ago. Spreadsheets and Land Cruiser's don't mix well.

I'm nowhere near $138K but just rolled past $25K and it's depressing to see each dollar in the spreadsheet.

So don't look.

Ignorance is bliss, man. Don't :censor: with my bliss...

LOL, that should be the Mud Motto. Don't Look, Turn Up the Radio, Ignore it and it Will Go Away, That's 'Normal', etc.

Hold on guys, it's good to track your expenses(I sure as hell don't) but don't look at the total cost, you need to look at total dollar per mile. So if Joey has 138k into it and at 340k miles it comes out to about 40 cents a mile, not cheap but not horrible either. There were times we pay that per mile for gas. :meh:

If you lease any descent car/suv that's how much it's going to cost if not more.

Includes everything btw. Gas and insurance too.

Damn, including gas and insurance???? That's cheap! When gas price was high I remember it was 40 cents to drive a mile here in Cali......just for gas!

There you have it folks, thanks to the diligent efforts by Joey, we've established that an 80 is way cheaper than a civic!

I like the way you think! I'm at .13 per mile, not too shabby. Cheaper than a new Camry with a lot more benefits! See Joey, you've cheered up the community and empowered us to spend even more on our trucks! That's a solid Wit's End value-add right there!

Just stopped off at the powder coating shop. They finished zinc plating my cams for the Medeco locks. They also finished all of the powder coating on both the LockingLids for the FEM-1 and all of the LockBoxes. I am picking it all up after lunch!!! Woohoo!!

@jeffro109 your keyed alike round keys for the G8R came in this morning and everything is right with the world again. I just need to get those keys laser etched. You ok will be adding a small logo by the tumbler on the lock? If not that's totally fine. I figured it's an easy reminder of where to get replacement keys just in case you forget all about me :P

When I started my business there were some situations as you have discribed here. Five years In I controlled everything I built In house. I bought raw materials, rough hardwood lumber, hardwood ply units, conversion varnish, and hardware. If hardware needed altered I did It or bought something else. I would not have made It a year If I farmed out more than roofing my shop. Its hard enough serving your customers needs, without constant mistakes, people not capable of what they offer to do and changing the project to what they can do, low quality. What your experiencing Is not unusual, Its the Norm. Its a Nightmare...!The more YOU controll the less problems you will have. Good Luck..! :)

Fine by me @NLXTACY !! Hell, I would have been ok if you just machined out a cut in the other key as long as it was smooth...
