Sorry it's taken soooo long :*(
I used to have a saying, ''As long as Its perfect Its O K''. I don't know you but from what I have read here you seem to have a similar attitude. Smart men know how these things go. The average time for a new product start up from concept to completion Is six to twelve months. This Is from established manufacturing facilities with an on going production capacity. I'm just happy to see someone decide to build a product Here In the US. Your getting It..!! Good Luck..! :)

"The current spring hinge, on the LockingLid and the LockBoxes, is a failure."

Crap. I really want mine to stay open. Is the spring replaceable or is it supposed to be a permanent installation? I say 'supposed to be' because I usually void warranties...

The good news is the warranty is ONE MILLION MILES or first red stop light, whichever occurs first :flipoff2:

Seriously though I will warranty just about anything, even most forms of stupidity.

If one did have the inclination, one could:

• drill a small hole on both sides of the hinge pin
• drive the hinge pin all the way through to the other side
• remove the s***ty spring OR
• cut away another knuckle
• replace with next size spring
• reassembly although wow what a pain it would be
• bask in the glory of one's accomplishment

Was actually planning on the drilling/driving out the hinge pin, what size spring do I need?

EDIT- How about taking another turn on the present spring, would that help?

I was going to try something like this tomorrow... not ideal but I think it will work well.

The spring used is a #2 spring. So either use two of those or try a #3. But the #3 may require making the knuckle opening ever so slightly larger.

I thought about doing one more turn but I don't have the right tools to make it successful. Its a freaking PAIN.

Found the pic of the hinge back on page 21 of this thread, and yup- that'll be a real :censor: job to take another turn on.

Well, maybe it won't be that big a deal anyway once the lid is up? It doesn't need to open by itself, just stay in an open position. Or maybe the magnet is the way to go- perhaps in or behind the organizer.

Either way, looking forward to getting the new box!

So orders have been going out for almost a week now. Hopefully some of you start driving packages rolling in. Looking forward to feedback and hate mail.

I have 18 packages left to ship. They are being held for one of two reasons: 1) the fix for the LockingLid and/or 2) the delivery of the side felt lining that I miscalculated the qty needed. That should arrive today...I hope.

Guessing you shipped based on who placed orders first. I knew I shouldn't have dragged my feet on the initial order.

Of course :P

Although that isn't necessarily true. I'm holding back orders with the LockingLids for the FEM til last because I'm hoping to have a cam solution coming up pretty quick. Just needed the extra time while I package up everything.

Does this include the scouts? I still owe you the $25 upgrade for that. Sending me a paypal invoice?

All orders are going out. Most Scout orders are upgrades. A few new orders. I thought I sent you a PP invoice, I'll check in the morning.

I received mine. as always, your packaging is incredible. The box looks and works great, now I just need a moment off of work to install it in the truck. Can't wait! Below are some quick possible loadouts. Just to clarify, this is the smaller box.

First load: Wallet, cigarettes, lighter, sunglasses, work phone, personal phone, knife, work keys, personal keys.

Fits great with room to stuff a few more little things in too.

Second load: Charter Arms .44 Bulldog Pug, knife, personal phone, personal keys. After I took this picture, I confirmed that two speedloaders will also fit with this loadout.

Bottom Line: You need one of these boxes!

Love it! I only had access to one compact to test fit. Glad to see others fitting in as well.

Please let me know of any issues installing. I haven't done any instructions yet so I know I suck :(

I'll work on it. But should be pretty straightforward.
