Excited. Let those of us changing orders to the Scout from the Mini how to proceed.

Its been a late night. I have 26 packages shipping out today so far. I ran out of supplies, already, so I'll be making some local pickups to be able to get more of these orders out today. There IS light at the end of this tunnel!

Saweet!

Well, I got yours ;)

The issue at hand is there isn't an easy way, thru the site, to upgrade. So those interested I will just change out the order before I drop off in the mail. I will send out a PayPal request for $25 to take care of the price difference. Its the only way I can figure to do it. I don't have very many of the Scout boxes so I won't have enough if everyone decides they want the larger box. So I didn't want to break any hearts but was trying to secure more getting made but haven't been able to yet.

so if I get this in the mail soon, I'll have it installed by summer 2016....glad it's coming to a conclusion though and looking forward to the new stuff!!

You should be getting shipping notification soon, I'm packaging up your order now :flipoff2:

I'm doing everyone a favor by not bothering NLXTACY.........:hillbilly:

me too! that is why i took a trip to mammoth and lake tahoe....my cousin wanted to open up his new Mercedes CL 63.....
total gas guzzler!! It only took me 1 tank of gas to get to mammoth in my camry and still have 1/4 tank left and he had to fill up at big pine...

I think I can read between the lines here. What you are both saying is, "we were just at your place and all we saw was work and we're not having any of those shenanigans".

Thanks guys :flipoff2:

I've had an ipod, iphone, cash and knife stole over the years. Just something to help because I've been way too trusting of people in the past.

1. fire-resistant / water-tight are not necessary
2. number key is fine
3. would be nice if the size were big enough to hold a .45 caliber pistol

I have some notes about the orders and the boxes in particular, I'm being nit picky but want to keep things transparent:

* The current spring hinge, on the LockingLid and the LockBoxes, is a failure. I should have went with my gut and went with at least two springs and/or larger spring. What I have currently just isn't enough. I thought about ordering new hinges but it would have been yet another 5 weeks so I used what I had. All future LockBoxes will have the improved hinges.

* The LockingLid for the FEM isn't locking currently due to my lock modification. I'm working on finding a solution. I did not notice it until I was assembling the LockingLids. My prototype didn't have this issue so it's an unplanned issue.

* all orders with the LockingLid are still going out but I am sending these orders out last just in case I have a solution in time. Otherwise I'll just send out the LockingLids out separately.

* all LockBoxes are getting the thicker felt lining. For the LockBox Mini (short) I am including a length of 1mm felt lining. If the felt I applied is too thick for your particular storage needs then you can peel off the thick felt and apply the thinner felt. I recommend keeping SOME felt in place to reduce noise.

* because I've been up for such a long time I realized that at least one, maybe two, LockBoxes may not have tightened Locks on the lids. There is a large nut holding on the lock and a small nut holding on the cam. Please check that both are tightened. If you have trouble getting the lock to "lock" after tightening it down, add a thin washer behind the zinc plated cam. That will push the cam just far enough to engage the locking tab.

* you will be replacing the stock bolts with the new supplied bolts. The extra length is necessary so please use the bolts I supplied.

* there are two nylon spacers that come with the hardware kit, these drop into the two round spaces where the bolts go. Use these spacers. They prevent you from over tightening and potentially damaging your console.

* the anti-rust floor liner has two strips of 3M VHB, once the box is installed, peel off the paper backing on these two strips and then stick to the bottom of the console AFTER the box is bolted in. These strips keep the contents from allowing the rubber liner to slide.

* if your LockBox feels "loose" inside your console you can lightly pry apart the sides of the LockBox to get a snugger fit. This is the main reason I didn't bother welding the sides, well that and it wasn't needed for the application.

* there is a charging cord pass-thru on the front of the box. If you plan on putting your iPod or phone in the LockBox then you will need to make a matching slot IN your center console. Simply place the LockBox in your center console (lid should open the same direction as your console's lid). Then use a Sharpie to trace the slot onto the console. Remove the LockBock and use a Dremel to cut out the small slot from your center console. You can now slip a charging cable into your LockBox.

I'm really hoping you guys like this thing. Blood, sweat and tears...blood, sweat and tears.

I like the added port for charging.
