Looking good! Actually looking the same externally...

Glad I finally got the FEM loaded up with an extinguisher, now I can await the box's arrival.

Looks good. Inspires confidence that you asked for critique and adjusted accordingly.

It was my first attempt at a LockBox so feedback was/is critical. The next LockBoxes will be superior to these. Sorry guys, you were all my Guinea pigs. :flipoff2:

BTW on my way to drop off all of the LockBoxes to powder coating. The LockingLids for the FEM should be ready tomorrow morning.

Yep, tan interior parts in good shape are hard to find.

easier to find a whole complete truck! save time and spend money! just do it! buy a LC!

It is weeks like this that I feel like giving everyone's money back, throwing out everything I've done, going back to just driving my trucks and working at Carl's Jr. Would you like fries with that order? Yeah...I could do that. I am obviously a total masochist. It's the only possible explanation.

Like a scrotum here it is in a nut shell:
* Metal work cost me triple what I planned for
* Metal re-work on the FEM lids were only finished today
* Dropped off metal re-worked lids only to find out NONE of my LockBox order has even been started to be poweder coated
* turns out they don't want to coat them because of the way they want to hang them them there would be an 1/8" line where the lid covers the box.
* I made a suggestion of how to hang it a different way to prevent the issue
* powder coater said no and then came back with an unwillingness to poweder coat the hinges
* so fxxx it, I loaded everything up and drop down the street to their competition. They said, "no problem with the hinge and no problem to coat the hinge." Why does it take the other place five days to tell me that?!?!?! Fxxx me!
* silkscreen on CargoLiner not done in time for silkscreener to leave on vacation starting tomorrow.
* took silkscreening and brought to competitor. Have to repay for logo screen and setup, awesome.
* @jeffro109's Medeco G8R lock came in but the key won't go in far enough. Turns out this lock requires the "round" key. Ok, thanks for telling me. Ordered and will be here tomorrow. Sorry Jeff :(
* nylon bushings for the bolts on the lockbox are .030" too thick. Ordering new ones will take ANOTHER 7 days. So guess who gets to machine each one?
* the cams I ordered from Medeco were 90* off and I only just noticed. Now I need to reorder the correct ones. This one is all my fault.

I could keep going but it's getting really depressing. With the new cost of powder coating, additional cost of metal work, etc etc etc, I have recalculated my break even, I would need to sell 5 more than I made in total. Woohoo! Smart business decision for sure.

Where is the emoji for gun to my head?

I need one with an elated, satisfied, stress free look on the face

Sorry, I can't actually encourage suicide. Hang in there, it will all work out. Just curious, how much of a price increase per unit would it take to get you to the break even point? You've made a lot of improvements since the original group buy. I'm pretty sure that most of us would agree that it's fair to pay you for that work.

Ain't gonna happen. On both counts ;)

I made the price and I'm sticking to it. If and when I make the LockBoxes for the LX, the 62/early 80, the 60s or the early 100s, I'll make my money back then. I'm making all of my mistakes now and even though this LockBox isn't 100% perfect, it's still better than the competition. ;)

It's just a different world coming from a company that produced hundreds of products with thousands of quantities to a company that produces a 100 or less :P

I just need to readjust my thinking is all.

Dang. So much for those LC guys paying for my LX box. ;)
