Just wondering what kind of mileage a regularly serviced and well cared for landcruiser is capable of? There are a lot of what Iwould call high mileage trucks 120k to 160k for sale. What kind of miles does your LC have , are you the origanal owner, how important is the mileage issue in a well cared for truck ?????

255K on mine. Origional Head gasket from what the previous(origional) owner said. Shes not winning any races with that milage, but still running well.

We have one regular service customer wth over 250k on the original powerplant, to include the head gasket. It is not unreasonable to believe that the engine will run for well over 250 thousand miles with proper care. In that period it is possible that you will need a head gasket and how much more you do to it at that time will depend on the current mileage and your future plans for the vehicle.

My personal opinion is that any engine with less than 150k on it, that needs a head gasket, is probably OK other than that. After 150k it may make better long-term sense to "freshen" the engine while you have it apart. this will vary from vehicle to vehicle and the type of gasket failure needs to be taken into consideration. If the engine has been over-heated it should be freshened up in my opinion. Once it is freshened up I believe that it is reasonable to expect it to go another 200 easy.

My 94 has 198k and it drives as well as my dad's 97 LX 450 with 80k. His shifts different due to the different tranny. But I think the power is pretty much the same. Gas mileage is about the same. His is also quieter inside and the seats are better.

Endless what kind of mileage on your rig?

Mobile 1 run that in the company trucks after 50k . They said they noticed a difference in the gas welders longevity .Good to know

Our 80 has 235,200 miles as of this evening, and is untouched - no HG repair, etc. (knocking on wood.) Oil analysis - no worries. At the rate my wife drives, it'll be over 250 by next summer. So far it runs strong, but we might need to plan on a visit to robbie...

My brother in law has very close to 300,000 on his '93 and it's had casual maintenance. I replaced the original PHH on it around 280k (!) and he puts cheap gas and fluids in it and they live in a fairly harsh urban environment (LA). Everything's original on it and the thing drives just as well as my pampered 140k '93. I've driven his around 1000 miles over the years and have been downright amazed at observing the minimal differences between our rigs over these 12 years.
