Nice work Jeff!
Glad you didn't need to employe the super lubed double spatulator trick to install the spring bushings.

the super lubed double spatulator

Ahhh, that was for the springs???;)

I had one on stand-by...Thought I was going to need it on the passenger side. The floor jack, in my case, was the heavy hitter...

are on my list

4wheelparts. As a matter of fact, you gave me the heads up earlier. $275 shipped. I honestly looked at three different shocks. In the end, the Bilstein track record was the screening criteria...I'm running Heavy shoes on the mule. I load it down w/kit etc etc. I read a lot of commentary regarding other Mudites going from some other shock to Bilstein and and having no regrets. Very few, switched to Bilstein with any negative commentary. My other factor was cost. You can spend a wheel barrow full of cash on some of the other "high performance" shocks if cost is not a factor. But, IMHO, the Bilstein shocks at $275 for four is hard to beat.

Aside from our enjoyment of watching one struggle with all things metal and rusted - maybe it's time to source a cutting torch ? The famed "red and green wrench" is a portable forging furnace , much to the delight of it's owner .
Of course , there is always a price to pay...such as unintended fires and collateral damage to parts that no longer exist , and the occasional explosion .
Carry on...

collateral damage

I would have enjoyed inflicting some collateral damage this weekend....

Yep, the red and green wrench would have been the ticket...

found them for under $200!

I'd buy a second set for >$200.

Have you looked at the Doetsch shocks? I was nip and tuck on the decision matrix REF: Doetsch or Bilstein...

"Snuck" (sneak-snuck-snucking?) in early on the mule this am..OK anyway I caught him unaware..In fact I may have startled him a bit..Had to muck the stall afterward.

Told him in no uncertain terms Wednesday was the day. "Them rear shoes is goin' on", I declared in no uncertain terms...

I'm starten' to think he's growing a bit belligerent...Not the response I wanted...

I have a second set of hands lined up for WED. So, like it or not this installation is going forward...

@pngunme

Well ya see, therein lies the rub...

All I had to choose from in Kingwood was an investment banker, a lawyer, a US Government employee or the local wino..So's I figure, what the hell, what's a bottle of Ripple cost??

Thunderbird wine is more of the WV style!
