Guess patience is a virtue, as I got the e-mail from Proffitt's Office Manager saying my truck is next, and they are having the pre-build meeting to hash out various "issues" and "TBD" items. Time to get serious about determining color/roof rack/lights/etc.

Maybe I'll have her back for Christmas 🤞

2 years, and I’m whining inside about waiting a month or two to get into Mudrak’s lol.
I had about the same quoted lead time from Gary...just couldn't pin him down on when that would be.

I was on the schedule for about a year and a half until my slot came up. I'm happy AF mine is almost done. Picking it up in 2 weeks.

Don't suppose you got the halo roof rack? Thinking that might be an item I get, but uncertain as to how the "attachment towers" pass through the soft top. Concerned inside will be perpetually wet during rain/snow season. LMK if you added it or know someone that did.

No. Mine is a hard top. I didn't do a cage either. His are really nice though. I'd rather die than lose foot room. 🤣

I did get a rack, but I bought a gamiviti. I only bought it for a trip to Alaska, now I'm not certain that is going to happen. Plus it doesn't fit in my garage with it on.

Just rolled into the shop...build meeting on Monday

And it's now an official build at Proffitt's...just off the phone with Jeremiah and while some changes are needed and purchased parts won't be used, in the end I will get my Cruiser back like I imagined.

Revising front axle - housing is too far toward the center (fab. error by Front Range/Diamond), so housing will be moved and new inner axles will be needed. Also, going to a 3-link design in front and SUA in back. Ditching the York compressor for one of the dual tank brushless ARB with a storage tank. Will have an AA and a Ron Davis radiators available and a new in box OEM fuel tank for sale, as the LS3 needs more cooling and trying the LRA tank that spans under both seats. Minor other stuff as well, but bottomline, she's a work in progress as she gets "resurrected."

Decided to try and tackle a "minor detail" for the final build. My old engine data plate and door jam safety plate were in horrible condition:

Engine and Door Jam Plates.jpeg

Plus - the information on the engine data plate will no longer be accurate, so I did a search on MUD and found a vendor that WAS making new plates. The catch is his source for the engraving passed during COVID. Spent a couple hours searching and sending off messages, and it appears as if I will have my new plates made up - with the correct engine data for my LS3. Will post the new plates when I get them.

Finally...PROGRESS!! No new pictures, but the update I got from Jeremiah was:

  • Small parts are in the body shop being painted
  • Tub waiting for space in the body shop for some repairs and paint
  • Frame has had the "Chasis saver" paint/sealer removed
  • Replacement front axle housing ordered (needed for correcting engine placement and suspension)

More to come....

First attempt on my replacement data plates...not the results I was hoping for, but a decent job for laser etching (tho they forgot to add the Oct and the correct VIN on the door jam plate). Price reflects the quality. Have another shop working on them as well, and having seen other work from that shop, believe those will be perfect. 🤞
