"73 FJ40 Windshield Wiper Switch issue

When we pull the wiper switch all the way out, it goes off, when you push it in, it turns on. Any ideas as to what would be causing this?

Sounds like something has moved in the switch - maybe the sliding contact moved up the shaft or something?
It needs to come out either way. There's a good chance you can repair it but otherwise I'm sure one of the old favourites here will have one for you.

Yeah, the problem is everything is completely opposite. Fully out is off and fully in is high speed wiper

Any other thoughts from anyone on this? Seems really weird. The wiper is off when the switch is fully pulled out and the wipers turn back on when pushed back in!

Is it possible the wiring is reversed?

What is new, what has changed? Did you guys have any of the wiring connectors apart?

Sorry i forgot to respond. We figured it out.... the connector plug was connected backwards. Who knew you could connect it backwards!
