U.S. Air Force Combat Controller next to a 70 series Land Cruiser

It's crazy how much more "grown up" soldiers gear has become since '03-'04 I deployed with half woodland, half desert and green vehicles. I definitely dig the 70 series though.

HZJ78 , Portuguese Air Force . Pics from September 2009 . Communications equipped vehicle . AM letters on the license plate are proprietary to the Portuguese Air Force .

The pic was from a protest about 5 months ago. that truck was right smack in the middle of it. Brand spanking new, dual cab GRJ79. It was run over by a pro-government armored vehicle.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out why it was there, and why didn't anybody move it when the shtf.

I must have a video of that happening around here somewhere.

Although not directly military related, the current season of Jack Ryan on Amazon is a treasure trove of all things "Toyota" including the 70 Series.

Technamm Masstech, a military adapted version of the Land Cruiser 7 serie.

The first one based on the HZJ76 has been delivered to the French army (500 units) to wait for the ACMAT-Ford Explorer (5000 units to replace the Peugeot P4):

Theoretically they are meant to be mainly used in France as a connecting vehicle but seeing how they are outfitted for sure we will them in abroad in action x)

Theoretically again the 500 HZJ76 should be all the French get, they had to ask an exception for it, etc.

But France has at least bought a lot 79 based Masstech to offer to multiple allied African countries to fight terrorists in the Sahel.
And weirdly all of the pictures in action of these 79 Masstech I see... They have French soldier onboard, someone played with the rule in the army I guess ;)
