Are all 70 series dash supports and cowls the same up to 07 when they changed to the newer style? To be exact are they the same between 85-90?

Let me also add are all windshields the same up to 06? Reason ask is i have a 3/4 79 series cab (no cowl) and i'm wanting to spice it with an early cowl for my 79 series project.

If I'm correct the only real change between the pre 99 and the 99+ is just the front end going from leaf spring to coil and the grills and indicators changed. I do believe all windshields are the same up to 06.

I'd be willing to bet they're all the same. Everything I bought for my first build bolted right in and I wasn't specific with dates...just pre 06(usually 99 and earlier). There aren't too many dash supports for the metal dashes....one that goes from the drivers side to the middle of the dash and then connects down to the floor. That metal dash doesn't need a lot of support...it kind of self supports.
My cab is an 09 and had the old style dash in it. Would be interesting to know when the old dash was phased out completely...
Bet it fits been swapping between an 86 bj and a93 Pravda doors etc direct bolt ins. Dash was same. Good luck

My 3/4 cab is from a vdj79r. That makes it a later model. 2012ish? I've read somewhere that the windshield changed. I'm wondering what else has changed and what problems i might encounter trying to mix and match cabs and cowls. I definitely don't want to build a cab i cant get a windshield in. They seem to be the same. I just swapped the dash in my 2002 HZJ76 back to original as the PO put an older model Prado dash cover. The dash support frame is very simple.

I'm not so sure the windshield size changed but there was a border added to the inside of the window to hide the taller airbag dash, deeper A-pillar trim, etc. I would think that if the windshield gasket is the same on pre and post 2007 trucks, that will tell you if the windshield is the same.
The roof must be different too(maybe the inner structure) because the headliners are different but that could be for the 16/17 MY trucks as I see a lot of part numbers change at that point.
I believe that roof change was for overhead air bags maybe....not sure all models got those then. When I order our overhead consoles, I know that it's a big deal for the trucks that are airbag equipped or not....in fact, they don't do the full length console for air bag trucks which makes sense.
