The Koito kit is a great deal and way better than the sealed beams, however it still cannot compare with LED lights.
However, if you are planning on getting LED’s I would still get the Koito kit because it comes with a relay and cables that increase the amps delivered to your bulbs, which is a good thing no matter what bulbs you end up running.

I like his kit and it is a consideration! I wish he had a less white light option like the Holley/morimoto design.

When is it scheduled to arrive? Or more importantly, will you have it installed by next weekend’s 70 Series event so I can check it out?

I did the
STEDI 7 INCH CARBON BLACK LED HEADLIGHT PAIR (FOR LANDCRUISER) they work native 24V

I'm really happy with them, great light and yes they look a little robot but not nearly as bad as some. it's not a bad place and the light output is wayyy better than the old halogens. You don't have to hook up the little 1/2 halo feature if you don't want. You will need to setup to fix the negative switching. But that is true for most 7" rounds.

I hear Led bulbs don’t always perform well with halogen glass?

that's because there NOT 360' degree rotate-adjustable , AFTER you preform your FSM/ owners manual normal head lamps adjust to your states local standards

8000k, wow that’s bright. 5000k is more useful on the eyes and seeing road surfaces in the snow/rain.

I’d agree with that statement, the Hella’s combined with the LEDs I have make a nice light beam. I’ve had a bad experience in the past with other cars. Morimotos or HID conversions were usually the best option. I just opted for the Koito for the fact that it’s more OEM and it’s a 1/4 of the cost.

I’ll order a bunch of different LED bulbs at different temps to find what has the best beam pattern.

Once I find a good combination I’ll report back.

Maybe you got your low beam and high beam pics mixed? Even if so, the low beams are aimed far too high and are blinding oncoming traffic.

Also, 8k is not brighter, it's bluer, and light that blue is unsuitable for headlight use. I know this is an old thread, I hope you've made changes since this post.
