I owned mine for 7 mos before deciding on HIH5. Didn't really know what they're capable of.
Ha, got you beat! I had mine for 1 1/2 months when we headed to HIHs 3! Temp tags and all! I had swapped tires, built my sliders and added a cb. Remember Johnatan talking about my tags when we stopped on top of Imogene for pics! Great time, I'm hooked!

Yup, you win. Took me almost a month just to get used to mine from driving Tacomas most of my life! You still having the temp tags is classic. Cheers.

Please try your new CB before you drive all the way out and find out that it is not working. I would say you lose like 80% of the 'vibe' of the event by not being able to communicate on the CB and hear the group chatter while up in the San Juans. We cannot reiterate the 'CB MUST WORK' guideline enough.

thanks

10-4 Good Buddy.

I have an 80, but plan on going to Ouray this year -- could someone comment on the best map (e.g., from Amazon) and/or place to get a map when I get there?

Order the GUIDE TO COLORADO BACKROADS AND 4 WHEEL DRIVE TRAILS book by Charles Wells and Matt Peterson..all of your questions will be answered there!

Thank you, have a great time out there.

The Latitude 40 "Southwest Colorado Trails" map is probably the only map you will need, include the Latitude 40 "Telluride, Silverton, Ouray" map if you want more detail for hiking/biking/etc. The various National Geographic maps for the area also have an enormous amount of detail, but you need to buy a few to cover the entire area. Visit www.traildamage.com to read about the various trails and sights. Buy maps at home and study them. Maps sold in Ouray generally have a very high markup. I've been running Colorado trails since 1999 and have never cracked open a Wells/Petterson book. Word of mouth and general exploration have worked well for me over the years.

Chris, are the shirts being done by the same guys from last year? I'm asking so I can figure correct size for the kids comparing to the ones they already have! Thanks

Don't suppose the sackwear cruiser is going to make an appearance? His rig is about the only one id vote an exception to the hundy rule on. Been wanting to see it in person

@paflytyer and I will ask him if he can stop into camp. His rig is definitely a really nice vehicle. He will definitely be allowed on any run he wants....

thanks for the link to sackwear...very cool shirts...my threads are taking a step up in the world...
No problem at all. Last year Tim was gracious enough to donate his time and skills to develop the artwork for our event shirt. I own a couple of his Sackwear shirts and always look forward to his new designs. He's an enthusiast and from my interactions with him, a nice guy. Supporting the good guys is a good thing to do. Thx

Can anyone provide insight into local fishing for out-of-state?

Nothing hard-core, guided, etc. Just would like to take the wife and kids and drop some lines in the water during free-time.
