I am restoring a 69 FJ40 and looking at replacing all the shocks and steering stablizer. Any suggestions? I am considering using KYP GR2 Shocks and Monroe Steering Stabilizer.
Font Shocks part #344426
Back Shocks Part #344090
Thanks in advance

I just bought a suitable substitute for the factory steering stabilizer at SOR

Bilsteins are not available for rear Shocks.

Yes they are. You just have to do your own homework. Figure out the compressed and extended length and then go here - Bilstein. Figure out the part number you need and then go to your favorite Bilstein supplier and tell them. Boom! Bilstein shocks for the rear.

Thanks for the help. Ordered shocks and steering stablizer today. Now I need to find shakle bushings. Anyone have a source. I called one place and they want $6.00 each. I need 32 of them.

Hi All:

OE Toyota parts.

Call "Cruiser Dan" at American Toyota in New Mexico - he can get you these parts at a good price.

Good luck!

Alan

Yes I have 2 rigs but I cant count. I ordered 24 bushings. They are suppose to be here on Tuesday. I did have a little problem figuring which way to mount the front shakle. I ended up finding a picture of my ride before I took it to be sandblasted and saw how they were mounted. The L shaped attachment need to go facing inward towards the center of the truck. I am having problems getting off the front stablizer. I dont have a pickle fork and it is damm tight. I have a neighbor who is bringing over his pickle fork tomorrow to help get it off.
