Yes, but I am am rewiring with new kwik wiring harness. Also, I do not have the original connectors for the lighting and windshield wipers, so the color coded wiring diagram doesn't help me. Much Thanks. JimHave you tried looking at a wiring diagram?
Do you know anymore about the flashers and turn signals? Much thanks for your help thus far. JimThis will get me there. Do you know where I can get the 6 prong connectors (new maybe). I thjnk I have the connector that goes into the switch. It also has the colored wires coming out of it. Thanks. I appreciate your help here.
Thanks. Great story on Clifford!!!@Coolerman has got the parts you need: Cruiser Wiring - http://www.globalsoftware-inc.com/coolerman/fj40/wiringmainframe.htm
I got the wipers hook up and only work on slow speed. The blue w/black wire when hooked up, blows the fuse. I have checked continuity on blue w/black wire and I have good continuity from connection on switch to where it it attached to the wiper motor. Any comments? This will get me there. Any comments?Take your multimeter, and set it to test continuity (easiest if it beeps), or a low resistance range.
Then test across the terminals with the switch in different positions.
You'll see either an open circuit, or a closed low resistance (and maybe a beep).
If you don't have a meter then it's worth the investment - it won't be the last time you need it!

Thanks. On the dome light pull switch, is one lead ground, and the other lead is power to the switch? Much Thanks. JimFirstly check that you have the right fuse value.
The wipers take a lot of current, so if they are heavily loaded due to dirt and corrosion, or the motor is dirty inside then that can cause it to blow.
Try lifting the wipers to unload the motor a bit and grease the couplings. Running it in slow speed might also free it up.
You might need to rebuild the motor.
One side of the light is +12v, the other is ground. Maybe a photo will help?
