Dang Utah Bob that’s quite the offer. Are you offering accommodations also?

Has anyone mentioned beer yet? Do we bring our own, or is this an all inclusive wrenching resort?

Utah Bob, how many wrenchers do you want out there at one time? I think there might be a few to take you up on this once and a lifetime offer.
What is your time frame? Depending on that I’m ready to schedule.

Where did you go Utah Bob?

Welcome to MUD!

There are a bunch of serious and jovial folks here that care more about their LandCruisers than most anything.( except maybe their dogs)

If you are serious about wanting help tell us more, show some photos. This community it tight. There must be at least a million LandCruiser owners in the SLC area. Plus a museum.
So come back and let us know if your offer still stands.

tor down the 2F today. looks to be previous build. bearings arent fully broke in yet. it must have been a popped head gasket. #3 hole has some pitting in the cyl wall and #2 has a small bugger in the top of the cyl to #3. decking the block will take care of it. and a skim on the head. it was WAY over carbed (a Edlebrock 750) ordered a 500 today. i have 2 choices for intake manifold: an Offenhauser split plane or single plane? it'll be a daily driver....sooo....? pics as soon as i help the wife do something

they're up. more to come. FJ60 axles, flipped on 35's. have original fenders and a bunch of other parts. 60 rims, 40 rims and tires. ambi door rubber and barn door hinges. etc.etc.etc........etc.

#1: don’t order ANYTHING until you have a machine shop tell you the block can be reused.

#2: A 500cfm Holley is a sure-fired fast-tracked one-way ticket to a set of washed-out piston rings. I wouldn’t break a fresh motor in with anything other than a perfectly tuned stock carb.

This doesn’t mean you need to buy one, even though you should consider it. Amongst all the volunteers who are going to come over and help you, perhaps one of them has a good running carb they would be willing to loan you for the 20 minutes or so you need to seat the rings.

Hey UTAH Bob ,

again , Welcome to MUD .....................

u have a :
2F 001787 engine serial #

that puts it @ January 1975 Build Date ( I think ) o_O

so , the Donor Vehical was either a 1/75 FJ40 , or FJ55 if its a USA spec. 2F

Logic would conclude they built many hundreds if not thousands of 2F engines in the first 30 days of 1975 , U have a VERY early 2F

maybe @devo :poof: can double check my math ..........

where this comes in play if for ordering parts from / for your machine shop like @65swb45 suggested

Here is a :

2F Engine Serial Numbers Chart

The engine number is stamped on the right side of the engine block right above the starter. Engines listed are starting production numbers

based on a particular month and year. If your number is not shown you may have to "Best Guess" your production date.

Hey Utah Bob! Your Cruiser is a beast!

Glad to see your back. I’m not much of an engine rebuilder but you are on the right track here because there are some experts at your finger tips. Like Mark over there at Marksoffroad.
RAGINGMATT can get you through the numbers game.

I’ll PM you later and share where, when and how I may be able to help you out.

I am surprised that you have not been directed to return it to stock configuration with OEM intake and carburetor?
