'65 FJ45 heater questions

What color should the heater case be on a '65 FJ45 - the same gray as other interior parts, a different gray, or black, or another color?

Also, the original heater core is toast, but it looks like a later heater core could fairly easily be made to fit. I've heard that early heater cores are not available - is that so? I can't find heater cores called out separately on the SOR site.

The two 45 heaters I have, a '65 lwb and a '66 lv, both have gray heaters.

Don't know about the cores, you could try a radiater shop for repair.

OEM factory installed 65 heater, not repainted

no heater cores for the early heaters, with some work and mods the latter cores might fit.

Performance Radiator has the latter cores, $80 i think

I have the repro heater control sticker, so now is a good time to repaint it and apply the new sticker.
