OH yeah.....I can't pass that up.....I'll bring that new oem reverse light for you.....Sounds great....Let me know when is a good time....Its always good for me.....Thanks...

Might have to make a few mods to make the spare tire carrier work. The right hand hinge might be in the way. Plus the pre 72 model tire carrier were heavier with no ribs but the over all size should be the same. I could probably get you some pictures this weekend to compare if you want. For the price you can't go wrong with the price. They are not that different

dont the earlyer body hinge mounts stick out a bit further?

i recall an issue when i needed to use a later and earlyer hinge on the same carrier

I've got a few to compare here in town. 1968 hard top model - 1962 soft top model but B style with the barn doors - 1973 soft top model - 72-74 hard top model this mounted to a FJ25 soft top model. I have a couple of others but those are the later driver's side mounts. All my others are out of town. I do know the later ribbed style are thinner metal and weight a lot less.

I'm confused.....I'll try looking through some pictures to sort it out like you describe.....Thanks for the
input.....I feel very well looked after...... :)

Great info John...you ever think of writing a book? I'd want to get mine signed

I did not know the '73 would have been that different...so what can Jim do to be able to use it (it's practically next door to Jim...and at a really great price :hillbilly:) Is it just the hinges that he would need to mod, or switch over to some older hinges? Can he install the '73 in a way that he can easily remove it when ever he finds the correct 1965 carrier, and not damage his beautiful '65?

If he gets the hinges that came with the tire carrier I have a feeling they will work from him. I think he will have to trim the bottom edge of the carrier to clear the right tailgate hinge. I will get a picture this weekend. The early style tire carrier hinge might stick out a little further letting the carrier clear the tailgate hinge. I would have to check. Only one of the soft top models I have tailgate and the tire carrier. Most are FJ25 soft top models which had the spare mounted to the side. I will check all my $hit this weekend.

Great, When I get with 73fj40lc on the carrier I'll post pics too and go from there.....Thanks
again for all the great help!

So I put on my bows.....Slowly but surely I'm getting there.....

Florence Cruisers

Jim get the tire carrier painted already. I want to see what it looks like. We are going to have to get the Florence Cruisers together so we can all look at everybodys Cruisers. I know you and Bubba but don't know the rest.
