I hate I missed that one. I just ordered the parts from Rick @ RHT, so it looks like I'm rebuilding.

Rebuilding a split case is only a 2 banana job if you take your time and make sure that you dont leave any parts out. Just make sure you dont loose your shifter detend spring and ball when you pull the back half of the case off.

And like JP said you should probably have a FSM on hand if only for the exploded pictures of the case.

Kind of on topic. I pulled the tranny and tcase last night in my 60, going to replace the seal. Anything special there I should be aware of?

JMRINS, did RHT have the parts in stock, or did they have to order? I am hoping to tear the TC down tonight and know I need a few parts, but want to make sure I don't need a few more, and am looking at how long the down time might be.

Rick said he'd have them in a few days, so I'm guessing they are coming out of the Toyota warehouse in Florida.

John got a Factory service manual if you need it........

Time is not on my side for this rebuild, and I still have to put the OME on if it ever comes in (supposed to be here today) I have a trusted mechanic doing the rebuild for me. Thanks for the FSM offer anyway.

Did you buy a "rebuild kit" or just the gaskets and seals. Chances are that you will need a new ideler shaft. If the t-case is making noise that is the culprit most of the time.

Hey Carp replace your rear main seal....and order 2 of them....cause if you screw one up then you've got another one there....but that's a 50 buck screw up so just go easy on it. Also, if you are going to seperate the tcase from the tranny it's best if you have 2 guys to seperate it. JP and I spent a while trying to get mine apart. Marshall may have some tricks on how to get them apart easier. Good Luck
