Has anyone had succes modifying a Skyjacker 6" lift designed for a 2008-09Tundra to fit a 200 series? I know the trucks are different but they both have independent front suspensions. The rear leaf springs are different but could you replace the springs, and have a custom set of long arms, and new drive shaft made? It would seem possible. Thoughts? Here is the link to Sky Jacker's site.

it would be a shame to ruin a 200 like that !!

Why do you say this? I'm honestly curious...

I kind of agree...for me, it would be better to shove 35's under their then bump it up that high. I would not want it that top heavy either.

I think the 2" lift from OME is a great lift, but still would like another 1", which I could gain from 35's.

I have a 100 series with an OME lift of 2", and want a little more on my next build of a 200. I will use it almost exclusively for recreation. My 100, at just over 8000 pounds w/ gear and people, bottom out constantly, and the overhangs get hung up on trails too often. I just have to believe there is another alternative to a 2" lift for an IFS vehicle like this if it common on Tundra trucks with a simliar front suspension & drivetrain. I agree 6" is too much, but 2" inches isn't enough for my use, and I am willing to make some sacrifices.

6" lift....gosh it is hard enough to get in the LC with the 2 - 3 inch lift after a leg day at the gym......count me out.

Plus a 6" lift wont fit in my garage, forget it for me.

Plus it would end up looking like those damn Fords and Chevy's that drive around here in Southern Cali. YUCK

The question was more to ask if anyone has done a lift other than the 2" OME. Not necessarily if it looked good or not. I am past that, and want a more trail oriented suspension with the luxury of a Land Cruiser. If someone has done a lift of that height successfully then they could offer suggestions/thoughts both good and bad about how compatible the lift is with the trucks factory engineering. (Steering geometry, drive shaft angles, etc...) I would not do a 6" lift if I had choices, but at this point there are none that I know of but OME. I will also check throughout this forum for other threads that may have ideas about using Tundra lift kits for 200.

If where me with a relative new 200 series .. and wanting more lift aka room for bigger tires .. point myself to a SAS path ..

SAS on a 200 would be sweet!

I don't remember if the tundra has the same frame crossmember right below the front diff, but on the 200 the frame is right below the diff. So even doing a diff drop won't work. If the tundra is the same way, then cutting that out and installing a different bracket would seem abit sketchy.

You can lift the 200 more than 2", using any of the coilover options available for the 200, but you put a big angle on the CV's(DUH!).

The first 200 we did here at IPOR, we did the icon coilovers, total chaos UCA's, and OME springs in the rear. We fit an almost 35" tire under that truck. Can't tell you how it is doin today, but it fit.

Anyone who wants a SAS on their 200, and has the dough to do it, just give us a call!

I am currrently finishing a front and rear 3 link 04' 4 Runner with diamond axles and 37's, so we can handle a 200.(the 4 Runner is AWD)

Take some pictures and measurements... we'll compare the front frame sections of the two vehicles. They are fairly close, if not identicle.

I have thoughts of building portal boxes to bolt on the stockish suspension...

The new Procomp 4" drop bracket for the tundra would be the acceptable swap here. No frame cutting involved to mount it.

The Front ends are identical except for A arm length. so im 90% sure that the new procomp set up would work on a 200 series too! 4" lift and keep geometry in line. Probably look killer too with the right off set wheels! :bounce2:

Edit: Sorry, I just realized that I bumped a really old thread.. dam google for taking me here)
