Yes on the rig and setup, but how do you feel about your paint?

As with most southern AZ trails, you will get pinstriped.

wax + buffer + quality Toyota finish = takes out even the severe ones! :D

My paint beggs to differ! I've been bushwackin too many times...

Only if wax=Bondo and buffer=body repairman. I can see some Toyota quality finish taking care of the rest on my rig. :D

Yup, without armor most of us would have the sheet metal "raisin" look, or alot of bondo weighing us down.

If it's just me it's not an issue, I sleep in the back of the rig, one of the advantages of wheeling a huge station wagon.:hillbilly: If momma is attending and I hope she does, she has this rule about indoors plumbing at the sleeping place.:princess:

Gotcha, If it were just an issue about running water, we could make that happen.;):D

Ross+4 are in.

We are not going to NM over the holidays this year so the whole clan will be out for the O/N trip.

For those of you on the fence, there is a super cool mine there that I am itching to explore. The potential for fantastic yard rocks is certain! This was a pretty high grade copper ore body and what I saw last year of the rocks Alvin collected show all sorts of chyrsocolla and other oxide copper minerals. Should be a real hoot!!

OK that is some funny stuff really... uber mineral stud talk. Nothing fancier than a guy knowing his rocks!

Can't wait to share in this kind of excitement.

Alvin, is the K5 gonna fit?

sounds like an awfully long drive away from Fountain Hills :frown:

:hhmm: is the rock serpentine ?

we are not too gung-ho as far as camping, we have all the stuff handy in AZ, but I have a thing against communal washrooms - if there is a creek or river, fine :hillbilly:

also, I categorically refuse camping if there is infrastructure within reasonable distance :meh:

With that endorsment, how could I physically keep myself away?:hillbilly:

Now your really tempting me!! Wish I could make it. John

Guess I'd be in with the prefer fixed facilites gang. No camping equipment anymore and the short bus is to short for even me to sleep in - comfortably.

Some more cool news about this trip. My friend Brad (TucsonT4R on the forums) will be camping in Turkey creek when we arrive. He'll already have a good spot staked out for us AND if any of you want to see a kick ass trailer he has an Australian King Kamper. The thing is loaded with features and cool as hell.

And he always has lots of Makers Mark...:hillbilly:

This going to be sweet. :bounce: I was planning on finding a campsite along Turkey Creek between where Rug Rd drops into the canyon and the confluence with Arivipa. However I read in a past trip report about a nice spot at Parsons grove. Does anyone know where Parsons Grove is? Is it still down in the Canyon along Turkey Creek or up out of the canyon along Rug Rd?

I want to be down in the canyon surrounded by the canyon walls. :D

For those that don't know me, here's a link to my thread on Expo about my trailer set up.

Nevermind my question about Parsons Grove. I found it on my Topo maps. It's few miles up the road outside of the Turkey Creek Canyon. Unless I hear that Parsons Grove is an amazing spot that is better than down in the Turkey Creek canyon, I still plan to set up camp in the canyon area.

Thanks,
Brad

There are two good campsites in turkey creek big enough for a group. One is about 200 yards from Aravaipa creek, and the other is about a 1/2 mile further south (can't miss it, huge rock walls on the east side). Either one of those is an excellent choice.

Look foward to meeting ya Brad..

Brad came on the Gap run a couple years ago when Chris blew his front diff. He had the real clean 4 Runner. I think you were there.
