If defective I think most would take back but I only use the following on OEM parts: OEM below, Bell Lexus, Megazip, Partsouq or Motorshead Japan

OEM should

I think I have only heard of one defective switch but that could have been a bad ZPC but can't say.

MTS is pretty obvious.. plug and play.... if it doesn't show up on power up and you can plug in an ECU it is bad
Perfect. Thanks Acrad.
These are the right parts I hope? I found them in an old post from 2017.
Are these the part numbers for a 2017 GX460 premium?

Thanks for the info in this thread. It was super easy to get everything ordered and installed. It does help, however, to plug all the connectors back in when you’re done. 🤪😜 I couldn’t figure out why the CC and 4Lo weren’t working when I got everything put back together and attempted the calibration. Pulled the shifter console back out and immediately saw my error. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

No idea of shipping times right now but if you have a 10-13 460 ....MTS can be purchased directly from Japan. This same ECU was used in 10-13 Prados so it can be ordered directly. '14 is different from Prado so requires unique ECU.

Current exchange rate puts it at $137.57 + shipping...

Shipping:

Actually pretty cheap

Currency converter... (I don't know what package weighs)

Correct

I was surprised that Bell Lexus could source these all locally. Ordered Wed night, they were on my doorstep Saturday, could have picked them up Friday. Not sure what national inventory is like, but they're here locally for sure, to some degree. This for my 2011.

And I'm in business! For those of you that have Techstream, don't bother. It's just faster to do the calibration and CC enable it with the paperclips. This video linked in the first post has the clearest directions. Can be done before TS even connects to the car...

I'm curious as to how useful users have found crawl control after install? I find MTS to be pretty useful, but haven't yet bothered to install CC as I don't think i'll be encountering much use for it.

So I just installed the MTS and Crawl Control. I was able to do the zero point calibration but I’m a little Confused about the driving in a straight line. Can I back out of my driveway and then drive straight or should I just be driving straight right after the calibration? Also does it need to be on a flat straight road? Am I just overthinking all this?

There's a playground near me with 30-50 ft tall washes with varying degrees of difficult lines. I'm hoping to take it out and do comparisons of just 4-Lo, center diff locked, and normal ATRAC, and CC and various flavors of MTS. However, I did find this video, that makes a pretty compelling (albeit loud) case for it. This section of trail is much steeper than it looks, and is VERY hard to come down using traditional manual braking. You end up skidding quite a bit. Aside from the noise, this looks like a much more controlled descent than I was able to pull off in my GX.

Compare that to @jakemccurdy's video descending the same section of trail and look at the amount of skidding, v controlled roll with CC. If you're skidding, you aren't in control... (starts @ ~14:45)

Just find a straight piece of road to drive on..you don’t have to immediately straight

Once the directional tire indicator comes back on dash you are good. Just for reference I had to pull 50 feet forward down my sloped driveway and then a 90 degree turn

you will be fine

DAC would provide the same level of control in these downhill descent situations as CC, would it not?
Look forward to your review after you’ve had a chance to play around with it.

No, DAC isn't as slow. I tried using DAC, and found it too fast for situations where you need to creep down.

Interesting. So the speed control tied to the Crawl Control would help slow down descent more so than DAC. That makes CC more useful for me than I thought, I may end up getting it after all!

My frame of reference for ATRAC is the 100 series Land Cruiser, but it would "time-out" after 30 seconds or so (to avoid overheating actuators, or something?) I know that when using techstream to bleed the brakes on the GX 460, it also limits the time you run the MC/ABS. But from the videos I've seen, there doesn't seem to be a time limit to using CC. Is that true, no limit?
