If someone has a 2020+ Luxury model you can help the effort to bring Crawl/MTS to non-equipped 20+ models by posting some pictures of the wiring connected to your skid control ECU. At this time it would seem wiring is missing from a Base/Premium. We do not know if Luxury lacks the wiring.

••It would be great to see wiring of a Luxury with Off-Road-Package as well.

Thanks!

I tried it. Didn't work. What is this little creature though? 89533-60340

That is the ECU used for the transfer case CDL & 4L/4H actuators.

I wouldn't rule anything out on 20-21 at this point but think there is only one rev of that specific ECU. A previous rev of that ECU was used on all models from 10-19.

I put in the switch for my Luxury and took it to Lexus. The techstream said it errored out configuring crawl control (as in it couldn't communicate) so I think the Luxury is wired the same but there is some ECU or setting missing. Researched some more and I think I need this: 859A160040 MEMORY PACK & OFF ROAD PACKAGE&BACK MONITOR-WITH(W/GUIDE & MULTI-TELLAIN MONITOR)

Around post #1151 on that CL crawl thread user eNx had a '20 Luxury and couldn't get it working with Techstream like you saw. It seems wiring is there to Skid Control ECU. They were considering purchasing the alternate skid control ECU in thread but haven't seen any updates since earlier in the year.

Do you have the 89541-60C20 skid control ECU or 89541-60C10

I was reviewing the FSM covering up to 2021 and from when you look at the fact the Driving Support Switch ECU was removed and all troubleshooting in manual points to the skid control ECU I think a '20-'21 Luxury owner (w/o off-road package may need to make a "costly experimental and untested purchase" of 89541-60C10. This may also not be all the puzzle pieces to make it work either so throwing that out there.

20-21 base & premium are going to need some substantial wiring even if this replacement skid control ECU works for Luxury trim.

I can't seem to pull up any info about 89541-60C10 in parts schematics even though we have a picture and report of it's present on '20 Luxury w/off-road package.... so I have asked one of the Lexus/Toyota parts guys help me look into on his side.

I think it is this: 47217-60690

I'm checking to see if there are any other variations. It's kind crazy I see some year overlap in '19 but that could just be production run data. In addition it's called SOLENOID, MASTER CYLINDER, Skid Control ECU, and just Control Module depending on what parts sites I am on.

A lot cheaper option than the whole works and far easier to swap over.

The OEMparts site shows accurately off-road but then you check PN on Lexus parts and they basically show all trims.

I know that Toyota will sometimes carry parts over to the next year to be used in that function way through that model year and then change to a newer part of the same function.
Had this happen when we had our Previa minivan. The starter when out, so I went to the parts store to get the proper make model AND YEAR for van, I rolled underneath to find out the starter didn't fit! Went back to the parts store and told me that I needed the starter they used later in the model year.
Who'd had thunk??
So I would not be surprised that this is the same case.

So I ran two VINs I pulled from Cargurus to Bell Lexus North Scottsdale

One for a '21 Premium and the other for a '21 Luxury with off-road package

Premium takes - 47217-60760

Luxury w/off-road package takes that one you posted - 47217-60690

There aren't any in the country so use your connections to get one.

  • Sad
Reactions: r2m
Vlad: Gonna roll the dice on a 47217-60690?

I once told my wife the crawl switch might be a mantel piece if it doesn't work. :)

I did the $250 gamble. Let someone else do the $1000 gamble haha

Apparently PN cannot be ordered right now in US anyways - 84970-60450

Order will be cancelled once domestic availability is established as non-existent.

I've got one of the switches for sale if anyone wants

Sold.

Now that I have MTS out of the way, my eyes are turning toward Crawl Control.
I'm thinking I'd like to repurpose my existing DAC, ride comfort and rear suspension toggles on the center console for CC.
Question I have, and this may be for Acrad, I know CC is an On/Off toggle, but selecting the 1-5 speed settings, is that a momentary ON switch, or does the switch have to remain on one of the 1-5 positions to keep that speed?
If it's a momentary on, I could use one of the toggles to press up or down for 1-5 speed selection.
If not, I may need to break down and purchase the whole console plate with buttons.

Correct. Crawl ON & OFF and Speed selection are momentary switches.
Thanks Acrad! That means I could possibly repurpose those existing switches!
If I do, I'll try and do a write-up on it. I'm terrible about write-ups because I get all caught up in the project and forget to stop and take pictures.

If defective I think most would take back but I only use the following on OEM parts: OEM below, Bell Lexus, Megazip, Partsouq or Motorshead Japan

OEM should

I think I have only heard of one defective switch but that could have been a bad ZPC but can't say.

MTS is pretty obvious.. plug and play.... if it doesn't show up on power up and you can plug in an ECU it is bad
