3rd Row Seats - You Guys Tossing These?

My 3rd row seats have been up in my garage for three years. I tried to sell, then give them away on Craigslist. No luck either way. I can't imagine I'll ever want or need them.

What did you guys do with your 3rd row seats?

If you toss them... I could use the hardware as mine are still in the truck but the mounting hardware is very tired.

Lots of folks don't use them so market is often flooded.

I have mine stored in the closet "just in case" as many others likely do. They did come in handy when some friends and their kids visited and we took the cruiser up to the mountain. With a single car garage space is at a premium so I found a place in the spare bedroom closet.

Thought about using my old third row for a porch swing idea I was tossing around but said fawk it and let the landfill have them.was going to mount an old 6 pack igloo cooler as a console between the seats but life called and said fix the head gasket first then lost interest in the project

I tossed mine. Someone took them out of the trash so it worked out I guess.

I would like a spare set of third row seat hardware, to make an easily removed storage platform, but I use mine 2-3 times per year so I normally have them just stored in the garage.

i used a set to cut up and recover my front seats in my leather truck. just a thought if you ever need leather work and want it all to match.

Has anyone made a storage platform out of their 3rd row seats yet?

At some point in the future people will start looking for 3rd row seats when they are into a complete restoration. That might be a few decades from now however. Got mine covered and put away, high, dry, and out of the sun in a spare bedroom. FWIW.

I have mine stored in the garage. I have been trying to find a plastic container that would hold one or both stacked together. I haven't found one that I like yet though.

If you do throw them out, take the reclining hinges off and install them on the second row first....

Gave them to my buddy for free. My 2nd row seats are stored in the garage... Its too bad that all those seats were in such good condition as both my front seats are thrashed!

Mine are in the attic with the hardware and seatbelts in big freezer ziplock bags. Not sure what I am doing with them.

Taking up very valuable space in my garage/spare parts storage area. Used twice a year, so still valuable enough to not harvest the supple leather for the front seats. I like that Idea though.

Mine are up in the attic too. I don't even have the hardware piece that bolts onto the wheel well for the PS any longer.

Mud confession - I'm a hoarder of 3rd row seats...just in case (NOT) I ever take the fridge and storage drawer out and want to put the seats in again.

I have no idea why I still have them. The has instructions to cremate me and the cruiser together.

I took mine out in 1993 (a year after I bought my 92 and had never used them). They have been moved from Iowa to Indiana to Texas (F&@$ Texas!) to Indiana and finally back to Iowa. They sit in my basement. Open. On a shelf. I will never use them but I can't imagine just throwing them away.
