Gonna probably do it this weekend. But first I need to remove the drawers. Then I need to access the shark fin on the roof by gutting the plastics so I can run my solar wires through the roof into the cabin. Then put sound deadener on the floor. Then put everything back together (minus the seats of course). Should take about an hour or so, right??![]()
Same. I wish I had done it before I put the drawers in. You have to dismantle the entire system from top to bottom to get them in and out.Haha that sounds like a fun project! Maybe a little more than an hourI will eventually finish this off more nicely than just throwing the old floormat on top of the metal, but for now it will do.
I’ve been trying to convince myself to do this for months and finally just bit the bullet - wish I woulda done it sooner.
Pro Tip: The GX has seat belt holders on the side plastics to keep them out of the way. It took me a year to figure this out!
Anyone know who it is that is selling the plug / pigtail to access the power from the 3rd row connector?
Post 36:Hmmm man I did not know that was a thing but I am going to research it. I’ll report back and let you know if I find it
Awesome! Thanks for the reply. I've reached out to him to place an order.Post 36:

3rd Row Seats Power Tap without cutting or splicing OE harness
I received my set in. They’re quality pieces as advertised. It’ll be a while before I utilize them though, just wanted to offer confirmation that they’re what your expecting and @THEOZMAN was a pleasure to deal with. Thanks for the feedback - I pm’d himforum.ih8mud.com
I ran power from the engine bay, because I wanted it switched from my Switch Pros.
Also if you want a more robust floor plate, Aiden James Customs had a few for the 460.

Pro tip, order two and tie them together to utilize both sides and get an increase in power. I ran both to a single terminal for easy access.Awesome! Thanks for the reply. I've reached out to him to place an order.
Serious?? Only 15 minutes to remove? It took almost longer than that to the third row out of our old 100 series land cruisers and no tools needed. Finally got around to taking the power 3rd row out of my GX to make room for tools and other more important things. Took all of 15 minutes! Highly recommend if you are on the fence!

I know you haven't done it yet, but do you think re-installation would be just as quick?
There are times I really want to do the seat delete, but with a grand kid, never know if I'll need to drop one of them down. If it's that easy to pull out and reinstall, then I may do it, just need a place to store them.
Hi Richard - yes! I found a how-to video on YouTube that is about 10 minutes long. I followed along and had to hit pause a few times to get caught up, but overall took around 15 minutes - 20 tops.
I think re-install would be just as straight forward? Maybe a little longer since it's reverse and things are a little awkward to move around.
I will say, each seat weighs probably around 50 lbs (100 total for both), so if you are in any way impaired from a mobility perspective, it may be a little harder or you might need a hand.
@cgs2k2 is on point. It took me only about 20 min with the video. Even without the video it’s pretty straight forward. Find the bolt / clip, undo and remove. The only issue I had was every place Bob says was a 12mm bolt was actually a 10mm. Either he really wasn’t paying attention or there is a difference between the electric seats (like I have) and the manual seats (like he has). I do find it hard to believe that there would be different sized bolts for those locations. At any rate, it took longer for me to bag up the seats and get them in the attic than it did to actually get them out of the truck. And it doesn’t help that it’s already 90*+ here before 11am.Serious?? Only 15 minutes to remove? That was a question I had that wasn't addressed in the video, what about electric seats?@cgs2k2 is on point. It took me only about 20 min with the video. Like you @cgs2k2 i was hesitant to remove them for a number of reasons. Thanks for “talking me into it”.![]()
