3rd group buy DT Headers

Is anyone organizing a 4th group buy for these or is everyone pretty much calling/emailing nick direct?

I just read 40+ pages of all the DT threads and I'm just about ready to get some of the power pack lost from the ARB/Warn and 305s.

Just call Nick up. He had a couple left when I called him a couple weeks ago.

Remember these headers are for the 98-05 model years.

I have a 2006. What's the difference for later years, re the headers?

Air injection is the difference.

2006-2007 are in R&D at DT.

They are not, or at least do not seem to be. I showed the DT supplied gaskets to the guys at the custom exhaust shop where I had the headers installed and they ALL told me to get new OEM gaskets from the dealer. The gaskets supplied by DT are made of a cardboard-like material and the guys told me they're not built to last. I honestly felt like I could rip them if I really wanted to. The OEM gaskets only cost ~$20 each and are metallic. The additional $40 is worth the peace of mind, IMO.

I used new OEM gaskets, and replaced all studs and nuts as well.

Warning: for those using new OEM metal gaskets, they are sharp.

I carried one in my bare hand from the box over to install it and the thing gave me about 10 "paper cut" sized cuts in my hand. Use gloves.

Just want to keep this going. Any news on the CARB EO number? Last I heard was DT got the letter from CARB, but still waiting for the official CARB EO number.

Im looking for a good - no ticky - stock ps exhaust. My drivers side was replced last year and the ps is ticking. Im hoping someone had to have the cool headers that had no issues with the stock ds ones.

Im in redding calif so im not sure what shipping would be.

If not ill remove the ds and weld it up this winter when things slow down.

Mistake, im looking for a stock passenger side. Not ds. Some one who has a good one that wants to get rid of it.... Ill pay shipping

Also a question on the cracks, are they readily apparent and easily welded? That may be my route unless i check on a new one from cdan as yet another option.

The exhaust manifolds are cast iron (pretty sure)
Not very easy to weld cast iron, but doable. For the amount of work and labor that would be involved doing this, i'd just go with DT or used headers that were not cracked.

Manifolds on the 100 are not cast. The can be welded up. If your labor is free it is a good idea to try it. As a shop not worth the gamble

My 99 still has not shown a header cracking problem after 13+ years of use. (knocking on wood)
And I don't recall seeing any 98-99 MY's on here with cracked/ticking headers.


I am just curious if most of the cracked headers are occuring more to the 2000+ year models?

If you have a 98 or 99 with the cracked headers, post up.

2000 was the blessed year for manifolds

My 2000 ticks like a clock before it warms up. My neighbor noticed it as well.

My 2000 was leaking on both sides. The front cylinders on each side were cracked right at the flange

My 2000 ticks like a beeotch. Especially when cold. It drives me nuts... One of these days I'll swap out the manifolds for headers.
