Hello everyone, after looking around my engine bay I noticed the bottom screw of my tps was missing, And the top one was tightened down causing it to kind of lever outwards. So I tried to adjust it using a digital multimeter set to ohms. I used a 0.93 mm feeler gauge between the throttle stop screw and lever, probed IDL and E2, and moved it until I saw it just hit infinite ohms (right on the edge of a reading and infinite). I've done it twice to be sure, and it looks to stop in the exact same place when I double check it. But the idle is still high (1000-1200 RPM). I did however notice a mark scratched right beside the idle adjustment screw as if someone had been adjusting it and wanted to mark where they started. Is it safe to believe that my adjustment of the TPS is correct and someone has tampered with the idle screw, or am I just not adjusting it correctly? Funny enough, when it only had one screw in it and was levered away from the throttle body, the idle was right around 600RPM or so. Maybe someone didn't notice the TPS was installed improperly and compensated by turning the idle screw? I'd really appreciate any help.

Your idle is also tied to your timing (ie clocking of the disributor) so the answer to your question goes deeper than your curtent TPS adjustment.

Because the idle was so stable aat around the factory recommendrecommended 650rpm before the adjustment, it's leading me to believe that the timing is okay. Also seems to run pretty smooth.

Is it idling that high after fully warmed up? Have you pulled the EFI fuse to reset everything? TPS spring back like it should?
Mine idles around that range when cold then settles to 650 after warm.
It was warm, but I haven't pulled any fuses. Are you saying just pull the efi fuse out and put it back in?

I noticed after every time I pulled the EFI fuse or left the battery unhooked for a while, it would take a few cycles of driving for everything to settle in and run/idle normal. It may just take a bit for everything to settle after the slight TPS change. Sounds like you did it correctly.
The TPS tested out ok as far as the other checks besides IDL to E2?

I haven't done any other check on it. I was told the other two checks were basically just to check that you have in fact dialed in right on where the ohmmeter goes to infinite in the check that I did.

The other check, VTA-E2 checks the resistance of the TPS with throttle closed and fully open.
