yep....seventy five hundred, OEM installed by toyota WTF?

Damn, for that kind of money you are more than half way to a LSX swap. Take the truck to a reputable muffler shop. Buy a header if you need an exhaust manifold.

That's absolutely absurd! I had a custom exhaust installed from the down pipes back for 450. Add a pair of stock pipes or even maf headers and you're not even close to 7500. Tell you what, buy me 3 or 4 trucks with blown 3fe engines and I'll build you a complete stock exhaust free. Or better yet go to any exhaust shop and get a reasonable quote.

the service writer even recommended a muffler shop....but..if I can convince my wife that is what it costs, imagine what I could do with the extra funding.....

Sounds like an almost fair price provided the path the exhaust is taking includes going through a turbo.

I believe the EMS one is only around 550-600 and is a real nice exhaust

I hate to vent buy Toyota really pisses me off with the way they have raised the price of parts above and beyond inflation starting about 15 years ago.

Land Cruisers were never cheap but compared to other stuff I buy parts for there has been a huge increase in prices. I have heard rumors from friends who work for Toyota that this because of the introduction of aftermarket crash parts taking a huge toll on Toyota's profit margins as that was there parts bread and butter. To make up for the market flooded with cheap fenders made in China for Corollas, etc they raised the prices on all the parts that they don't have competition with.

About 15 years ago BMW and Volvo LOWERED their parts prices to support high milage users who propped up the brand image with older cars. Too bad that Toyota did not do the same. At the time parts from the Volvo dealer were about the same as the auto parts store if you had more than 100k miles they gave you a deep discount. Smart.

yeah...the ems will be about 790+ so im thinking about 1k with shipping...still better that 2k at midas

Sheez - for 2k I'd buy the tubing, mufflers, converters, a bender and a welder and do it myself. Yowzah.

I am right there with you, $2K is still far too much. I must be in the wrong line of work.

looks like 1k for a stainless EMS is a fair deal.....but not sure I want to sound too throaty...

You could go cheaper buying a Cat and muffler and then going to a local muffler shop. Would be cheaper but wouldn't be stainless and also EMS put a lot of R and D into their exhaust so the HP addition wouldn't be as much either.

I think Joe put one on his cruiser so you can ask him about the sound even though it is a 1FZ it shouldn't be too different.

thanx for the feedback guys
