3FE - Need a good view of the PS belt tensioner & AC belt tensioner

bumping this old thread because I recently had the front of the engine apart and replaced all the belts.
Then today I was perusing the FJ62 manual and noticed the idler pulley/belt routing is different (as noted above). So I searched since it was a read head-scratcher and found this thread.

Adding some additional photos and info for posterity. My ‘89 FJ62 has the dual idler pulley setup like the FJ80.

Do you happen to know what month your '89 62 was manufactured?

The first year of the 62s used a different AC belt. Why different belts for 8/87-8/88 and 8/88-1/90 on SOR?

Anybody know how to properly screw in the double sided bolt that holds the PS tension pulley in place? I'm wondering if mine is screwed in deep enough, just did it by hand.

That is a stud and it also secures the water pump. It should be torqued to 27 ft-lbs with thread sealer

Looked up the diagrams and it looks like it goes through the water pump and into the block. They show it as being part of the block so I'm assuming it was supposed to be tightened pretty good on the engine build. I tried the two nut thing and it worked getting it on but then did not go so well trying to get the nuts off, ended up loosening it. I ended up using padded pliers and screwed it in as much as I could.

The torque spec is low as expected as the water pump is Al.

forgot the thread locker, kicking myself for this.... I'll just have to check on it for a while.

Glad this thread got bumped. I'm putting my 1992 3FE together, but not doing AC (its going into an FJ40). I have this bracket that if I read this thread correctly, is for the AC tensioner. Can I fully delete this bracket? It has the other smaller wheel that I am not sure what it is for.

Hello, I was about to replace all 3 belts on my 92 this morning and noticed that 2 bolts are missing on AC compressor assembly. Just wondering what OEM part number these bolts are or maybe a similar after market replacement.

Crazy! I wonder when those fell out?

It looks like your belts are definitely ready for a change.

This picture shows them in place:

As does this one:

Do you have a big bucket o' bolts that you can try? I am sure that is a common fastener, maybe M10 x 1.5...

It’s been squeaking a lot. I think this the cause. Can’t believe the previous owner/mechanic forgot to put them back. I’m gonna try M8 or M10’s at O’Reillys. Hopefully it’ll fit. Thank you. 🙏
