So the mickey thompson ATs do good offroad even though they are all terrains? I like the quite and less wear if I can run AT I will
Yeah, they are a hybrid tire with a tighter tread patter in the center and a wider lug spacing on the shoulders. Lots of siping and they were made for diesel trucks, so they have a 55k mile wear warranty. I have them on one of my 100 series and a friend has them on his 07 cummins, they are fantastic on both. They look more aggressive in person than they do in pictures - or at least the pictures on the Mickey Thompson website

I had ATP's on a truck years ago, they were the worst cooper tire and one of the worst all terrrains I ever had. the sidewalls are thin and they are terrible in the mud and snow. Once they are a few years old they are louder than mud terrains. I'm a huge fan of cooper tires, but those were terrible. Cooper ST maxx are good tires, but I like the mickey thompson baja boss AT's over them now, great all around tire with great sidewalls and they are silent on the highway. The baja boss at's are better in the snow than the st maxx as well.
Hm well they’ve been good for me so far. Hopefully they’ve made some improvements since you had them

I bought some used 37s a while back and wasn‘t a fan.
Absolutely loved the look, but it just felt like more of a slug with stock gears and the extra weight.
Back to my 295/75/16s on stock rims now

Just wrapping up a trip from NE WY to Southern Utah and back on 37s w/ factory gearing. Not normally aspirated though, so that makes all the difference. Still use OD off and 2nd often. Got 4.88s from Cruiser Outfitters back in April and haven’t ripped the axles out to go through them yet . . .but I’m happy as it is.

I can’t recommend Yokohama G003 MTs enough. I have 13k on mine and they still look new. Very quiet in my opinion. Great on pavement and bad ass off pavement

I agree. Put them on the 40 and they’re excellent. Their warranty blows away most other MT manufacturers, too.

37 inch tires on stock gears? Honestly it all depends on what state you live in!!!

stock gears on 35's made me crazy! i couldn't even imagine how crazy i'd go w/ 37's and stock gears

I didnt read any of this thread except for first post.. i ran 37s on stock gears for a yearish, it was okay, needed gears off road for sure, big uphills onroad(high range) were trouble.. i put 5.29s in my diffs and 37s were too small.. moved up to 40s and 5.29 is perfect..

They are 13.50s correct? Does that cause rub issues? I want to keep trimming minimal and I dont want a monster truck lift either I want to keep it as low as possible with the tires fitting

Thanks for the reply's I will probably do 4.88s at some point but my 35s are shot and If I am going to fork over all that money for new tires I want to go up a size, anyone have to trim? I don't want anymore lift I bet I will have to do some trimming for sure but I am ready for that.
You're pretty close to me. You're welcome to come take a look at my truck with 37's. I have 4.88's if you want to drive it and see how it feels (but my truck is also on the heavy side so take that into account). I can show you what I did to fit the 37's with a 3" lift and where I needed to trim.

I ran 35's and stock gears on my last 80 for 15 years. I never really had an issue with it. I'd be ok running 37's with stock gears if I had to but it wouldn't be ideal for sure. Driving roads like Parley's or Spanish Fork Canyon if you're going to Moab would be pretty brutal and slow on the hills. If you know that and don't mind dealing with 40mph climbs up some of the canyons then it'll be fine until you can regear.

More than likely I will trailer it more often and keep a set of 35s laying around if I go camping in it. Oh cool you are in Syracuse? I live in Layton and work on the air force base. Yeah I would like to come take a look if thats ok

I have a 37x12.50 on a 8.5” wheel with 4.5” backspacing. 4” lift. 2” bumpstops all around. No rubbing
