They do look like KM3’s and don’t appear to be 37’s to me. BFG lists no 37” KM3 for a 16” wheel, there are very few left that do.
Yeah... if you asked me to guess, I'd say 35s. It sits a lot like mine does at the moment.

37/12.50r16 KM2 was manufactured and discontinued around 2010.

Those 37’s are every bit of 14 years old and well past what’s considered end of life.

That’s what I was thinking 👍

Really hard to tell tire size just from a picture.

And to the OP don’t worry about the truck being run with 37 I don’t think the tire size alone damaged the truck.
Just switch to some 33s or 35s

The truck looks pretty clean, I don’t think it saw had off road use.

Nope....
Largest size you can still buy for the 16s are the

37x12.5x16

Nope. The largest size you can buy for the 16's are the Toyo Open Country M/T Mud Terrain Tire in 385/70R16. This is roughly a 38 inch tire.

Not my Cruiser.

I will throw in another option for 33's. Go with a 305-70-16. It is a little wider at 12.50" and IMO looks better than the skinnier 285 tire . I had those with a 2" lift and it looked fine and performed better than 35's on stock gears. With that said, re-gear it and put 35's on it. If you lived in the flat lands It might be ok. I am on 35's and stock gears but in the process of setting up some 4:88's to put in it.

wow, now I kinda want these (and something retro to put them on)

I just bought a bro truck with 35x12.50r15s, no re-gearing as far as I know.

Thinking of going 315/75R16 or 295/75R16. Any thoughts?

*Not my daily driver. I will take it off road but no serious rock crawling for now. I will be doing a few of 1000+ mile trips every year.

All I can say is that I have 2 80's, one with 285's and one with 35's and a 3 inch lift. The one with 35's is a trail truck. While it is fun to drive I would never want it to be a daily driver. The one with 285's will be my daily when my economy s*** box echo goes to the grave. If you are looking to make it more off road worthy, smaller tires and adding diff lockers would be a great choice. You can always stack rocks off road if you need to. Build it for what you actually use it for. I take my smaller 80 to the ski resorts because well it just rides great and is comfortable.

I daily 37s... its dumb

35s will get you through the Rubicon

33s probably can too
yup, I don't see many 33's on the Rubicon but I do fine with my 315's although I end up getting hung up more than the guys with 37's+ but for the % I am on the Rubicon vs. driving, exploring, camping, is the reason I have not moved to 37's yet. Although it always comes up as something "I may do" lol...

I've a triple locked LX450.

Compared to the current 35x12.50r15s.
315/75R16 - Diameter (-0.4"), Width (-0.1")
295/75R16 - Diameter (-1.6"), Width (-0.9")

Will giving up ~1.6" clearance improve ride quality much? Or I can just run something more geared towards highway driving like Kumho Road Venture AT51 with bigger tires.
