Ok I have gotten a few PM in the last couple of weeks about the tire that I run. How i like them?, Pics of them on the truck?, ect... So rather then answer every one i thought that I would post a few pics so that every ones question could be answered. I would like to keep this thread about 34 x 9.5 Swampers if you want to talk about 33 x 9.5(or any other tire) please do so in another thread.

x2 on suspension, etc. Also how they hold up to the road. I have my own reason for asking, to wit:

That is a very populr tire around here, where the trails are tight, with mud covered rocks. I have run them for years, until recently whenI went to a bigger size. The 34x9.5 has a tread depth of 27/32 which is the same as the 44" tsl!! These tires chew like you would not believe. Great tire, easy to spin, and is not as power robbing as a wide 35 or better.

They can be run on a cruiser with a mild lift, as they tuck into the rear wells well. They work really well with OME 2.5" kits.

Well how about some further information?
You running any lift springs?
Longer shackels?
Body lift?

Where do you rub under full stuff and locked turns?

Hard to balance?

Price paid?

Good Point

I am Running 2" parabolics springs with 3" longer than stock rear shackle(they need to be about 2" shorter).

They tires are very hard to balance,(by-ply) I had to bring the tries in hot and drive right up on the lift so the flat spots be at there mim. Each Tire/wheel has about 14oz of weight on them. The first shop did a sh**y job and i had to go back.

I have had them on the truck for about 2.5 years now and love them, they have about 15,000 mi on them and still have there knobs. And as best that i can tell are at about 3/4 tread.

I think I paid $150 a tire but that was 2.5 years ago.

They do rub, in two places. One on the drag link from the stock steering box to the center are, this only happens when hard left and at full stuff.

A close friend of mine runs a set of these and they really work well. Do NOT attempt to run at the same low air pressures you would run in say a 12-13-14 inch wide tire. Being this narrow you must run at least 15 PSI in the ruts and rocks or you push them right off the rim.

This is not true, I run the front tires at 8psi and the rear at 12psi (mainly because of the weight in the back of my rig when wheeling, ie. aux tank, 3rd member, axle shafts, starter, Alternator, water pump, front drive shaft,...) when in the rocks. I would say that running them on stock rims 5.5" wide helps keep them on the rim.

Cool, thanks for the additional info. One more question though::D
The front wheel does not appear to be centered in the wheel well opening though the rear does?

Hummm... i just thought that was how is looked.

Now that you mention it the 5.5" rims probably make all the difference. My buddy is running on 7" rims and he burps 'em at low pressures...

I run a set the 16 inch of these on OEM non-split Cruiser rims.

Mine balanced easily and I've never had a problem with then at low pressure. But I'm running them under a pretty light mini-truck. GREAT tires under a light rig. Not so good under a heavier one unless you never get into the soft stuff. With a narrow tires like this you sink to the frame pretty quickly. :(

Mark...

I used to have a set of these. I would have kept them on but they were spent. I had them under about 2" of lift, and they did not look bad. I think you would have to stuff them pretty well to get any real rub. I might get another set if I see some used. I must have been high when I decided to replace them with 33x12.5 AT's.

My buddy used to say it looked like an old army Jeep. I took that as a compliment.

I really like the 9.5, but what made you go with 34's? I know it wasn't simply for the look...

Not radials though, right? Great look.

Edit: Do they even make the 34x9.5 size any more? I looked on intercotire.com and I didn't see it under radials or otherwise.

I think they call it an SS, or "Special Service" TSL. They are listed in another section from the regular TSL's.
