Which lift is more appropriate for the 40 with 33"s. Post your pic, if you will, side view, and why you chose your specific height and brand suspension.

Here is a pic of my current build, I don't have one from the side with everything put back on yet.

4 inch hell creek springs
Bilstein shocks
Stock length anti-inversion shackles
33 x 10.5 tires

I went this route because I wanted room to grow. When I was looking at lifts, I read through aloe of threads. Most threads stated that people who had installed 2.5 inch lift eventually upgraded to 4 inches. So I skipped the 2.5 and went with the 4. I'm happy with the clearance.

4 IN LIFT 33 1250R15 ON 15X10

It had a 2 in SR on it when I got it but I wanted more so I added a 2 1/2 Procomp cause of price so far I love it

4" MAF safari springs in the rear. MAF shackle reversal in the front with stock springs.

33x12.5-15 tires.

I'm going SOA as soon as I get the time. The flex is good the way it is but I want 35's and a little more flex/Clearance.

And a 4" Hell Creek lift with 33x12.50x15 BFG Mud Terrains:

It really depends on the width tire you want. If you are going with a 10.5" wide tire, you can squeeze them in under an uncut rear fender...barely. So, a 2.5" lift would work. If you have uncut fenders and want a 12.50" wide tire, you need a 4" lift. And I have kissed my inner fender lip with my 12.50s even with the 4" lift.

Good luck!

2.5" OME springs
1" lift ant-inversion shackles
33x10.5x15 BFG MT KM2s

It's actually a little lower in the front now as the front springs, which are newer, have settled some.

Here's mine my springs are Downey 4 inch but I took out two leafs from the front and one from the back. This with cut fenders stock steelies and 33x10.50s is a perfect ride. I had a shackle lift before and am with most guys go big the first time. Save time and money.

How did you get those rims and what width are they?

On the mustard yellow truck, are the shackles in the front upside down? The second one wasnt there yet.

Yes, they are upside down. It's on my list of things to fix. They were that way when I bought it. I didn't really pay enough attention when I swapped the front springs. That would have been the ideal time to do it.

Thanks! The wheels are widened stock rims. I'm guessing they were widened sometime around 1972 or 1973. They were like that when my grandfather bought it in 1973. Back then, I guess it was pretty common. Nowadays, it seems like there's only one or two places around where you can get it done.

Have you had any rubbing? The wells look close to the tires on the back. Do you know the distance at the closest point?

go with the 4 inch lift from CCOT or He77 Creek
it will save you time and money in the end as you know that you will get tired of the 2.5 inch and end up going with the 4 anyway

go 4 inch and forgetaboutit

sno dawg

4" lift sua oem springs that need replacing bad on 33 x 12.5 x 15's Extended shackles and anti inversions. That it what was on it from the po. I would never go above 33"s for a road/trail combo rig. Not purdy but its mine and paid for lol

Mustard what is the front bumper made from? I like it I mean for a simple bumper. I like the color of your rig too! Mine stands out like a sore thumb and I can't hide from rebels and others around here ha ha! But one has to pay the government to change vehicle colors.
